NIT

In a game that won't be an auto bid thief, another team to watch is Richmond. Davidson (the 1 seed) should be in the NCAAT field regardless, so even if they lose they wouldn't steal an NIT bid. Richmond however is listed by NIT bracketologists as just ahead of us, so if they lose it may knock them out of an at-large position. Root for Davidson.

Davidson a little flat the first half and start of second hopefully they turn it on

Its a very good game. These teams can play with us without a problem. I am all in on this NIT thing now so we probably won't make it.

The fact we are sweating out final possessions in the Ivy League championship game hoping an autobid doesn't take our spot away in the NIT shows just how pathetic this program currently is.

Shouldn’t that mean we should root for Richmond? Seeing as both teams would then make the tourney?

If both teams make it then a last in team would get knocked down to NIT definitely ahead of us. I think he was saying that if Richmond loses since we are close to them that maybe the loss would knock them below us

But that kicks another NCAA T team down to the NIT.

I'm afraid Yale & Richmond wins may knock us out of NIT. Hopefully Davidson can throw in a miracle three.

We are on the edge of the bubble of the NIT. Who would have thought?

I have to believe we get into the NIT since we’re next up in the conference and from nyc.   But I’m just guessing based on common sense.

The reason to root against Richmond was so they could've fallen behind us in the NIT bracketology. Because they won now they are in the Tournament (in addition to Davidson), so that pushes both bubbles (NCAAT/NIT) back one spot. When an auto-bid is taken from the Tournament it often means the NIT teams are negatively affected as well since both bubbles get pushed back one spot. Due to Richmond winning, an at-large team that was expected to be in the Tournament now will be a 1 seed in the NIT, and one NIT team will be pushed off the NIT bubble.

Rough day for NIT bubble teams, we'll see what happens in a few hours. Still think we'll get in since we're a major conference team and I think the NIT selection process is a tiny bit different where they're more likely to pick major brands over mid-majors if it comes down to a few.

No Xavier in the NCAA means no St.John's in the NIT

Maybe. Maybe not. I think the NIT would very much like a NYC presence.

I don't think they care. The Garden has been empty for years of NIT games and yet it survives.

Fair enough. We'll have to have different opinions on that.
