Wow. I'm a big jets fan, but my dads huge on the Giants, and last night was absolutely brutal. Way to give away a game that was given to you. The Cowboys handed the Giants the game and the Giants kindly declined and gave it back. Awful.

Jets looked good minus the scary injuries though so I'm excited about that.

Horrible clock management by the Giants last night. Dallas also took advantage of some funky, NFL rules, per committing penalties, and having the clock stopped. The Giants declined the penalties, so the clock should once the ball is spotted.

Nevertheless, back to the poor clock management by the G-men. I would've never thrown the ball there on the 3rd and goal. It would've been another run play. Whether, it was up the gut or on the edges.... It would've been a running play. Dallas would've gotten the ball back with about 45-50 seconds remaining, instead of 1:30 or so.

My son is a Jets fan, so I'm happy for him. But, I don't believe the Jets will sustain what they did yesterday. Cleveland is well.... Cleveland. Fitzpatrick can't be trusted for the long haul, and he's eventually gonna disappoint you.

As a giant fan that game was disgusting at the end but my anger was quickly replaced by elation as I had Tony Romo and Witten on 2 fantasy teams and certain losses turned into miracle wins for both teams

Agreed. I also didn't like kicking the field goal after that play. I would have gone for it, worst case is Dallas takes over on the 1 (in which case they probably play only to get into field goal range to tie - maybe you win it in OT), or you may surprise yourself, and actually stuff it in for a 2-score lead, and the win. Surprised they are not getting more flack for that.

Nah, maher.... LOL You know you and I are like "Starsky and Hutch," but I wouldn't have been elated by winning in fantasy football. Don't get me wrong.... I play Fantasy Football, but my fandom is with my team first and foremost (Redskins). Being that a loss was to a hated-rival, in which the game was basically snatched from me would've made it worse. I'm sure you have some dough involved with your fantasy league, as well, which was another reason for your elation.

I don't get too bent out of shape about these games any longer (as, my 'Skins blew one yesterday, as well), but I probably would've been a bit irked if I was a Giants fan. Just horrible.

I'll also add the Giants defense wasn't doing anything last night outside of their turnovers. That is why I knew Dallas would score on that last possession, if the Giants couldn't come up with a turnover. Dallas was moving the ball all night, but kept killing themselves with dropped passes and turnovers.

I also told a few Cowboy friends that Dallas was gonna miss DeMarco Murray. He keeps drives alive, as he's hard to tackle and nifty in the hole. They're not gonna get the same production from Randle or McFadden. I know it was only game one, but I believe they're gonna have trouble consistently running the ball, and the game will be placed on Romo's shoulders, as they've been in the past. Once, the competition and defenses tightens, then I think Dallas may have a bit of trouble. Even more trouble, considering Dez Bryant will be out with a broken foot for 6-8 weeks.

Personally, I had no problem with kicking a FG. I just would've never thrown the ball knowing Dallas was out of timeouts, and would've gotten the ball back with about 45-50 seconds remaining in the game. IMO, Dallas would've simply ran out of time or Romo would've tried something risky and thrown a pick.

As a Jet fan I never get too excited but no reason to take a shot at Fitzpatrick who played a solid game against a Cleveland team that some were picking for the playoffs. The Jet defense will improve and the team will compete hard every game. Our quarterback is not making 80 million and knows better than to throw the ball in that situation.

Let's see what we do Monday night against a desperate colts team not trying to go 0-2. Win that and I think we are for real.

Even, if they win next Monday night, I still wouldn't think they're for real. Too early. I've been watching this game for about 37 years, and I've seen it all. Just give it a bit more time than two weeks, even if they do win.

I "took a shot" at Fitzpatrick, as you call it, because I've seen the book on him after the past several seasons. You'll see.

I was down 104-47 going into last night and facing Dez, Odell, and certain disaster. I started Romo, Witten, and Bailey and now only down 112-106 with Hyde going tonight. Which probably means he gets me 59 yards and I lose by one, but I was quite thrilled last night.

I think under perfect conditions Fitzpatrick can lead them to a good season. And having two big and talented receivers to throw to is as close to perfect as Fitz has likely ever been in his career, although he's been so many places I've forgotten who all his receivers have been.

I hope Fitzpatrick proves me wrong, but I've seen enough of him to know that he'll eventually disappoint. I'd be shocked, if he's put those past demons behind him. We'll see.

Agreed. the call there was to run it on third down and then again on 4th down. That pretty much would've run out the clock even if you don't get in. If you don't get in on 4th down it leaves them with about 20 seconds on the 1 yard line. Brutal loss.

I have no illusions that Fitzpatrick is going to take us far. Although he is a better quarterback then Sanchez is and we wound up in two AFC championships with him and almost won one. My point was that at this point in his career Eli Manning does not deserve to be paid 57 million dollars in guaranteed money. He was very good last year but if he reverts to the year before.......

He definitely throws too many picks, so he needs to keep those down while he's in there. But I think he'll be able to move them downfield. And I still have trouble believing Ivory is for real, but he seems to be. I think the true test -- assuming they have a winning record heading into the game --will be not losing to the Pats by 20+ when they meet.

I also think Coughlin has seen his best days.

I guess you can blame Coughlin but I put that on Eli and the Offensive coordinator. Eli has to at least take the sack if nothing open.

He doesn't like to get hit. Which is smart and why he just got paid 57 million.

Fitzpatrick being better than Sanchez is irrelevant. I could bring up lots of scenarios where one player was better than another player, and the lesser player team accomplished more. Bringing up Eli is also irrelevant.

My point is Fitzpatrick has shown he can't be trusted over the long haul. Maybe, he's exorcised those demons. Time will tell.
