Next season

I woke up this morning feeling pretty optimistic about the future. I think Lavin somehow pieces together a really good to great recruiting class at the 11th hour, and I think we make the tournament in a few weeks.

I'll worry about whether he coaches next year's team into oblivion when the time comes, but I feel good that he'll have the pieces to work with. All this is subject to change at a moment's notice, of course.

And I think by this time next week we have our next verbal.

I'm usually not one to tell people what we should be talking about. The opposite actually.

But we're at a point where the team is fighting for a tournament birth. And they have a legitimate chance to make the tourny. I really want to see this team go out strong, and earn an NCAA bid.

Me personally, I'll resume talking about next season and the big picture in about 4 weeks. For now, we're in the middle of a post-season race.

I prefer to enjoy/agonize about the rest of this season. But, thinking ahead, what worries me about next year is who is the leader. Even if both RJ and CO stay and are the "upper classmen" (and I use that term loosely), are they the leader types? A resounding, NO. D'Lo, Greene (in a quiet way), even SDP are the leaders now. There will be no "this is the way we do things around here" voice on and off the court.

Guys I said knock it off. If the bickering continues I will lock the thread which isn't fair to the OP.

Who are the OP? The other prcks? This is a stupid thread since we haven't signed anyone and half the board thinks Lavin gets canned. Why is there such anticipation about next season under those circumstances????? Time for a music break.
