Next Coach

After watching this guy for over a year now it is time to look at the next coaching candidate.

1. Dan Hurley
2. Masiello

Any other thoughts? I think it is time to turn to a coach who is young and has head coaching experience.

A. It is way too premature to be thinking about a coaching change
B. In any event, I wouldn't have any interest in either of those two gentlemen

No.

Is this the same buck nasty that called a poster a fake St Johns fan for attending a Jets game at the same time of an SJU game last year?

Tell me more about how much of a real fan you are, giving up on a coach a year and a half after he took the job

I really thought this kind of insanity would happen after the ODU game. Guess this poster decided to wait a game.

Don't question my fanhood, definitely go to more home and away games than you son.

This guy is clueless and lost, I've seen enough. The staff looks like a joke besides Matt A.

Cluess I would believe is a strong hire.

Other coaches are laughing how bad Mullin and company are. It is an embarrassment.

He may be worse than Norm

Yes, not attending a Syracuse game for Jets, that was definitely me.

Real fan, I go to over 3 quarters of games a year and that includes Road so I wouldn't question it. I've never called a coach out in 30 years until now. These guys are bad!.

Its far to early for this thread to exist.
But in the event the unthinkable happens, neither of the above two guys should be target candidates and I really would hope the admin doesn't lazily make Danny Hurley the first and only choice. They should take a swing at Archie Miller or even Gregg Marshall first.

But again, this is far too premature and hopefully things turn around soon and it never needs to be a consideration.

I like those names.

I hope I am wrong on this but these guys look completely lost, like Clyde Drexler in Houston.

At least move Richmond back to special assistant and hire a proven assistant coach or former head.

If this doesn't work out it is over. This was the last best shot, so instead of worrying about the next coach root really hard for this one.Or don't but Mullin is not getting fired and if he walks away 3 years from now no one is coming here and turning it around.

Totally premature. Totally.

I think the AD should think about how we provide support for Mullin to right this ship and also give him their full support so he doesn't stress over failing and losing his job. With the right people around him CM can perhaps grow into a solid coach - he's already immensely respectable, even if it's not in coaching right now.

Taking emotions out of the equation, what you suggest makes sense. There's no choice, but to stay the course & see if Mullin can get things together. Nobody is making any staff changes mid season nor should they. My hope is they pull some upsets in the BE to at least give the kids something positive to build on & set a positive tone for 2017. Is that unrealistic? Perhaps, but that's all I have. :)

Not sure this comment accomplished what you wanted it to Jack.

I'd rather watch a cyo girls volleyball game than go see the Jets. If you're skipping sju games to see the Jets that does say something about your fan allegiances.

Now, I regularly miss a basketball game or two to see the Giants play. But, they're a professional football team.

Stop it! Just stop it!

While I agree that this thread may be premature, I think there are many of us who started thinking exactly what Bucknasty posted, even if we don't want to admit it. Lets not sugar coat things, we are not in a good state right now. Over the last 2 seasons we have lost to St. Thomas Aquinas, Incarnate Word, NJIT, Fordham, Delaware St & we beat Niagara by 4 points for good measure. Since January we have beaten DePaul, Bethune-Cookman & Binghamton. Delaware St came in with a 0-5 record (I am not counting the win over a Division III team). No one here was expecting an NCAA Tournament appearance this year, but at some point we need to stop losing to teams like this. There is no other way to put it. We played tough against teams like Minnesota, Michigan St. & VCU, so I am not ready to throw in the towel, but damn, I am frustrated. With the schedule that we have remaining (2 Big 10 teams, a road game vs an AAC team, 2 local rivals who would love to notch a W against us, & the Big East slate), things are going to turn around very quickly, or we are going to be in for a very long season. There, I've vented.

I agree re: premature. However, how can the AD think about such a thing, providing support, if Mullin won't budge? This was obvious at the end of last year. What changes were made? Richmond here to collect a check, and do nothing else. St. Jean over his head should be getting his feet wet at a lower program and work/earn his way up. The staff is a joke. No clue what is going on. Would be nice if the AD could right the ship and have someone brought it, but that will for sure not happen unless Mullin loosens up.

When admin allows employees to ignore the org chart, this is what you get.
