I can tolerate any respectful position on this coach, so long as it's not repeated 50 times a day, which it is.
I can tolerate people believing they are fans also while in the process of clamoring for a new coach. It's totally your opinion and right to express it.
I also can't understand perpetuating this discussion in the midst of a run that could earn us our first NCAA bid in 4 years. Basically it says that the fire Lavin guys really aren't happy with us being on the cusp of a bid. It can wait till the offseason, no?
What I can't tolerate is grown men attending our most important game of the season and of the previous four, and booing the head coach in pre game introductions. It would piss me off enough if they were Georgetown fans, but i'd really be tempted to put my foot in the back of both of them. Yea, yea, I know it's your legal right once you buy a ticket, but if I ran the ticket office and had any say, the next seat you bought from me would be in the nosebleeds, even if the 100's were empty.
While we are at it, one of the parties who identified themselves as booing worked the room at Carnesecca's bday bash, and took the title "birthday bash" a little too seriously as he bashed Lavin to anyone who would listen.
That being said, I'm not trying to attack Avon, who I know is a passionate fan, but the behavior just drives me nuts.
I just don't get it.
Beast I appreciate you singling me out here and I'm sorry me booing steve lavin at a gAme makes you want to resort to violent behavior. Just the idea that I have that much power over someone really touches me. Maybe we can figure out a way to channel some of that negative energy into something more positive, but you may want to join the Dr. Phil message board for that. I don't think youll get the answer here.
As for me posting the same thing over and over fifty times a day as you said somewhere in that post where you were babbling on about sticking ur foot into my head, I think you are exaggerating and honestly -95% of the posters here are pro Lavin....my point is he shouldn't be extended just on making the NCAAs. He should be judged on the overall body of work which has been underwhelming and additionally the recruiting for next year which is shaping up to be a disaster....because we will be losing Harrison Pointer Greene and Branch for sure and maybe Jordan, so that production has to be replaced somewhere.
I have met you before, I have seenyouatgames and I know you are a big fan, so I trynot to post anything to troll you but I am not changing my stance on the coach, and the job he's done. I respect you as a fan and I respect your opinion even though it might not be the same as mine but your post is imbecilic a childish in every sense of the word just because. I am not acting as you feel I should be.
As for my father he didn't boo Lavin and I have no idea what he said about Lavin or didn't say at LCs party. All I an say is he isn't happy with the coach and job done by coach. Anything else you can ask him when you see him. and he did mention to me though that your father was a "great guy" and that Lavin had balls for missing Louie's party.
Avon, I respect your opinion, but there's a time and place for everything. And booing Lavin in front of his players on Senior Day at the Garden -- a meaningful day they're sharing with the coach who recruited them, who mentored them (especially DLO), and for whom they obviously have great affection -- wasn't it. It's like going to a friend's wedding and booing his father when he walks down the aisle because you don't like him: it gets attention, but it's in poor taste and, let's face it, aside from infuriating those who disapprove of such behavior, it's of zero consequence.
