Thats my point, Buffalo isn't getting an at large bid so everyone posting all these different Rpi numbers is irrelavant.
RPI is relevant as ONE factor that goes into consideration for an at large bid. I'm guessing their RPI is so high based upon playing Kentucky and Wisconsin.
Prevailing wisdom holds that at large are given to teams from one of the top 10 conferences and that SOS and how a team are trending are given weight both for bubble choices and for seeding. Other factors are non conf play; play away and on neutral courts and wins against top 50.
If you believe the official line from the NCAA, then it seems to me that head to head and results from our Duke and Gonzaga games which were versus our two highest out of conf (RPI) opponents - losses would be considered as positives. Not sure that the Nova loss could be construed as anything but negative. It states:
Among the resources available to the committee are complete box scores, game summaries and notes, pertinent information submitted on a team’s behalf by its conference, various computer rankings, head-to-head results, chronological results, Division I results, non-conference results, home, away and neutral results, rankings, polls and the NABC regional advisory committee rankings.
