Saw this from a fan who listened to the game on the radio and got some good insight from howie

Now if this all true, I’d love Mendoza to explain why he thought Helsley was the guy in a 5-3 ballgame against team we are chasing for the division. Considering it appears howie said we haven’t solved the issue yet, I don’t understand using him there

He’s been aware of this for a week, but he says he loses focus when the adrenaline gets pumping. It is probably something that will take a few weeks to remedy.

Maybe move him to lower leverage situations until it’s resolved?

Pretty obvious we are going to have to go to Diaz for 4-6 outs way more often than we should.

I wonder if Manaea can be converted to either planned piggybacking a starter (Megill or Senga), or being our super reliever down the stretch. His stuff is clearly there, but the loose body in his elbow is clearly bothering him after 60 pitches.

On the SNY broadcast two day ago, Helsley seems to know how he's giving it away but said its hard to actually stop doing it once you're in the heat of battle.

He's dealing tonight and throws strikes and keeps batters off guard with his pitches and he's efficient with his pitches. 39 pitches after 4 innings. That's fantastic

Can somebody explain how McLean isn't a top 10 prospect? He has the #1 RPM in MLB for curveballs and he's already #7 in RPM in sweepers. He has a million pitches and throws upper 90's. He just gave up hitting last July and football 3 years ago...so there is plenty of ceiling there. He's also a physical freak and has the frame to put on another 25 pounds if that is the direction he wants to go. And he's a competitor. It looks like he's throwing a wiffle ball

Reimer and Ewing going crazy for AA Binghamton this month. Ewing is hitting .377 his age 20 season in AA with 66 stolen bases through all levels this season. Our minor leagues have never been this stacked.

I’m thinking he could pitch (and win) games 1, 4, and 7 very late in October!

If he can get through the top of the lineup the third time through, he might get a chance at a complete game. 55 pitches through 6 innings. Big if though.

he's got so many pitches working he's going to toy with them imo. It's not like seeing a guy with 2 or 3 pitches for the third time

Ewing is going to be a player. Got to go back to the 80s for the system being this good.
