New York Mets 2025 Season

It's a beautiful stadium and a really nice experience. I take my son at least once a season. It's hard to beat a minor league night game when the weather is nice, and the Cyclones are/were absolutely loaded. Benge was just promoted to AA (they dropped Ramirez to make room) and Houck was promoted to Brooklyn from St. Lucie.
I went to a Cyclones game Father’s Day as sometimes I prefer it to the Mets games. Cheaper prices, smaller crowds, less stress at least for me as I am there to enjoy the beautiful game. I am going back next Saturday. My daughter’s boyfriend is not from NY but a Mets fan and he really wants to go.

I love minor league baseball. I don’t know how many stadiums I have been to just on the east coast, many that are not part of the MILB system since it was restructured. From Myrtle Beach to Binghamton if there is a minor league game that I can attend I will.

As for the Mets, Blackburn isn’t good and there should have been no expectations for him. He came into the season with close to a career ERA near 5 and a WHIP of 1.43. We paid 4 million on a flyer and it’s not going to work out. It was working better with Canning but he got hurt. We need to get Manaea and Senga back by early August or we are in trouble.

There are some weird team stats that are troubling. We are 6th in team OPS and 16th in runs scored. We are 2nd in ERA and 19th in WHIP.

I’m a sucker for minor league baseball as well. It’s such a relaxing experience compared to major league games.

Embarrassing series

We face playoff/playoff hopeful teams for most of July, if we aren’t ready to dig deep and make some moves pitching wise, this could get away from us. Very important month coming up

Steelers 24 Jets 3. We’ve been outscored by the WORST offense in the National League. Not a Jets fan but this is what it must feel like.

We can now win less than 50% of games for the rest of the season and still win 90. I hate to say it, but we are pretty much a lock for the playoffs and it’s only June. Fangraphs has us at 95% odds.
Gman pretty happy he lives in London right now.

I think 90 wins is a minimum for the wild card this year. NL is unforgiving. Three teams in the West, at least one in the Central and the Braves will be in the thick of the wild card chase.

Well at least we can look forward to a new month beginning, a fresh start.

Tuesday is July 1. And we’re ready to charge ahead. Nothing in the dreaded past to drag us back to #lolmets.

Just a bright day and a million reasons to smile.

Looking forward to the subway series when the two NY teams will go a combined .500 after the abomination of the last 2 weeks plus.

Hard to see now but it’s all still right there. The Division, the playoffs etc.

Here’s the problem. The pitching we were all throwing bouquets to Stearns about has collapsed. Either via injury (Senga, Manaea, Megill and on and on), or just crap recent performance (Peterson, Blackburn). The bullpen is burning out. Nunez returning to form and Brook Raley returning will help. However, the “depth” for both SP and RP is currently failing. Doesn’t seem that anyone is coming from the Minors to help. Is Manaea ever coming back? Senga?

The other main issue is the Offense. They just don’t seem to be manufacturing runs like you would expect with the talent they have. Our Stars have been hot and cold. The “young” hitters Vientos, Alvarez (now minor leaguer), Baty and Mauricio are all struggling. I mean Vientos is a shell of the guy we saw last year. Remember when people were saying Vientos could replace Alonso? Yikes.

Just venting but it’s time to turn it around or this will become a disappointing season. Still only end of June but this team is missing something.
