New York Mets 2025 Season

So he was an excellent manager for a season, took the team deep into the playoffs, got off to a tremendous start and a less than 20 game horror show puts his job in jeopardy?
I disagree, unless you think Stearns and Hefner should go also. Frustrating stretch for sure but they are two games out of first and a half game out of leading the wild card. The fact is some injuries, and an unusual collective of the starting and relief pitching and the offense all going south at the same time.
Not a time to panic, stay the course.
As long as the ship gets righted I’m fine with that, but he still needs to figure out the offense side. I’m fine giving him a pass on the pitching until the arms return.

But I’m not sure I would call him excellent. His in game decision on handling the pitching staff seem very suspect.

Well, time will tell, right? It always does, but I’m inclined to judge any manager over a stretch of 200+ games as opposed to less than 20. The beauty of sports is the absolute total uncertainty so we each need to root and analyze as we see fit but I’m not sure I understand how you can give him a “pass” because of pitching injuries and in the same post question the decisions he has made with a the staff. You can only play who you got.
Having said that, I have posted over the last couple of frustrating weeks the fact that his pitching moves have not worked out but I judge a body of work, not a bad stretch I consider to be a result of multiple factors, injuries being one, with contributions, or lack of, from the entire team, so IMO, far from just being the manager’s fault.
So, again my opinion, different from yours, is that any discussion suggesting his job is in trouble to be extremely premature.

Went to the game last night. Spectacular night for baseball. Invited to an event in the owner's suite, which is an incredible gigantic room dead center behind home plate. 1/3 of their lineup is in the .220s and that's with a dh. Nimmo, lindor and McNeil in the .250s.

Without Senga they don't have a stopper in the starting rotation, and their middle relief is spotty.

Still and all, they should make the playoffs and could win 90+ games.20250702_191327.jpg

That view does NOT suck!
