As long as the ship gets righted I’m fine with that, but he still needs to figure out the offense side. I’m fine giving him a pass on the pitching until the arms return. So he was an excellent manager for a season, took the team deep into the playoffs, got off to a tremendous start and a less than 20 game horror show puts his job in jeopardy?
I disagree, unless you think Stearns and Hefner should go also. Frustrating stretch for sure but they are two games out of first and a half game out of leading the wild card. The fact is some injuries, and an unusual collective of the starting and relief pitching and the offense all going south at the same time.
Not a time to panic, stay the course.
But I’m not sure I would call him excellent. His in game decision on handling the pitching staff seem very suspect.
