I went to a Cyclones game Father’s Day as sometimes I prefer it to the Mets games. Cheaper prices, smaller crowds, less stress at least for me as I am there to enjoy the beautiful game. I am going back next Saturday. My daughter’s boyfriend is not from NY but a Mets fan and he really wants to go.It's a beautiful stadium and a really nice experience. I take my son at least once a season. It's hard to beat a minor league night game when the weather is nice, and the Cyclones are/were absolutely loaded. Benge was just promoted to AA (they dropped Ramirez to make room) and Houck was promoted to Brooklyn from St. Lucie.
I love minor league baseball. I don’t know how many stadiums I have been to just on the east coast, many that are not part of the MILB system since it was restructured. From Myrtle Beach to Binghamton if there is a minor league game that I can attend I will.
As for the Mets, Blackburn isn’t good and there should have been no expectations for him. He came into the season with close to a career ERA near 5 and a WHIP of 1.43. We paid 4 million on a flyer and it’s not going to work out. It was working better with Canning but he got hurt. We need to get Manaea and Senga back by early August or we are in trouble.
There are some weird team stats that are troubling. We are 6th in team OPS and 16th in runs scored. We are 2nd in ERA and 19th in WHIP.
