New York Mets 2025 Season

My immediate thought was I am excited to see Mauricio. He’s also a switch hitter. I doubt he plays tonight as I expect we will see some more Acuna.

Of course, the bad news is Vientos is probably going to be out awhile. Hamstring injuries are tough and you definitely don’t want a recurrence. Nice to have a prospect as accomplished as Mauricio to step in and get an opportunity.

Switch hitter than can play 2nd 3rd, SS or DH. That is some nice flexibility.
 
Going forward I hope Mauricio gets a bunch of starts at 2nd, as long as marte hitting well & Acuna in a funk.
 
At 4-1 Dodger dogs I thought this might be an early night. Now at 5-4 Metropolitans they sucked me back in. They are doing everything to destroy my sleep and ability to function tomorrow.
 
Too start the game Tylor Megill did his best Steve Trachsel impersonation by giving up 4 runs. Then somewhere along the way he morphed into Tom Seaver and retired 15 of 16 Dodgers. I would have bet my life or at least MjMahers’ that he wouldn’t get past the 2nd inning.
 
Great game tough loss. Nimmo lost that ball. Should have been caught. Oh well.

They called up Waddle. He pitched a scoreless inning. They weren’t using Diaz. They didn’t want to use Butto. They had too. Mendoza was short handed. Oh well. Those are the breaks.
