Maybe they tired themselves out
 
I checked out the Phillies fan blog and you would think they are the worst team in baseball. It is so funny how fan bases can’t deal with the ups and downs of the seasons. Their bullpen does seem like a mess which helps us unless they make some moves.

With so many flat out bad teams we will and have already seen wide swings in the standings. The Rockies are historically bad. The Phillies saw a good run because they beat up on the Rox (7-0) and Pirates etc. This is NOT a criticism they did what they needed to do. The Mets did the same by beating the White Sox and Rox.

The object for the better teams is to make the playoffs and go from there. The Mets and Fillies are in good shape. The Braves are the team in trouble. They got some work to do.
 
Ump missed a strike right down the middle on the Ohtani AB and then blatantly missed a foul ball when the runner “stole” second. Didn’t cost us but just ridiculous.
 
Great win! The only plus of west coast games is I get to catch the end in London when I wake up early for the gym.

I really thought Castillo was going to blow not there. Mendoza leaves these guys in when I would make a switch. Brazoban rewarded his belief.

I think the same and it’s amazing how often it has worked since the second half of last season. They have won around 103 regular season games in the last 162 going back to last season and the playoff run. Honestly it’s pretty amazing.
 
Very nice to see Blackburn throw five shutout innings his first game of the season after the lengthy injury.

Mendoza said he will go to the pen when Montas comes back, and probably piggyback a starter a couple of times a week for three-ish innings.

I guess the Mets will continue their modified six man rotation.
