Turning on my favorite Green Day song - "Wake Me Up When We Aren't Playing The Padres"
All true. People see 3 for 1 and their heads fall off. I also remember quite a bit of shade thrown at all three of these suspects.Gilbert was also Rule 5, so he had to be on the 40 man next year. I'd be shocked if we don't get a CF'er, and Benge/Jett are also both ahead of him.
Butto has no minor league options left.
Baez seems to be a legitimate lottery ticket type prospect who can bite you in the ass. But he's still just 20. Dohm was a 3rd round pick last year. Elissalt is a reliever.I have to google all these names…
We have a rough starch coming up. The only “bad” team we face in the next few weeks is Atlanta. The rest of the teams are .500 and above. Those padres losses were tough but the Phillies lost a series to the Chicago White Sox. So let’s just move on and win some games at Citi
Bingo. The core of our system is still there. You have to give to get. This is exactly what you should use your system for. Trying to win a Championship again in our lifetime. We have one of the best bullpens in baseball. Yesterday we were borderline bad.Baez is the one that the folks in Amazin Avenue are worried about. He is young and toolsy. We will see how he develops.
We have lost some of the depth out of the minor systems, but we still have a lot left. Benge, Jett, Tong and McClean are the ones we need to pan out.
What?Roger’s felt like a massive overpayment. The Giants won that trade. Both Butto and Tidwell could be better relievers than Rogers next year. I didn’t like Gilbert and Stearns clearly didn’t either, but he still had value to smaller market teams he didn’t have here. Gilbert is one of the luckiest guys in baseball today.
I liked the prospects better in the Hellsley deal, but I felt that was fair because they were so far away. Baez felt a little moderate to me…Dohm I liked the most.
Bullpen is a real strength now out of nowhere.
