Today Vientos is out of the lineup again. Mendoza might be sending a message. Time to get going. Baty hits, Baty plays. Vientos might have gotten a little to comfortable. Competition is good. At some point Mauricio might come up and Marky Mark might find himself back at Syracuse. We are not there yet but…he’s been underwhelming this season.

I love Baty batting 9th and Vientos batting 2nd. So much protection in both spots.

I still think Vientos is a potential all-star. You just have to protect kids at this stage of their careers. I don’t want either guy out there on an island.
 
We need Vientos to hit. I just think Mendoza is trying to push the younger guys a bit. I sense a little complacency with him. His .ops is down. He hasn’t or is not hitting for power. Time to get going.
 
McNeil is absolute ASS! I said it when he came back you don’t want this guy anywhere near the clubhouse let alone the lineup. DFA please!
 
Mets win but when should I be concerned about the offense? I believe we have the players but man sometimes it feels frustrating. 33-21 is good but let’s get going offensively. Sheesh.

I’d trade him tomorrow if anyone would take him, but need to acknowledge his defense. Throwing a 33 year old in center when he only played there three times in his career — and that player chasing down balls like that is kind of nuts.

First time in 14 games they score more than 5 runs. Worried tomorrow may be a rainout

He is a really solid defensive 2B I will give him that. But also a total piece of shit (pure speculation) and still benefiting off reputation for being a good hitter while sucking ass for the better part of 3 years (fact).
 
On a much more positive note I love the fact that the Mets haven’t played anywhere close to their best baseball in May and I still think they’re a game or two above .500 for the month.

Tough call to make when you’re contending for the pennant but I do like the idea of riding with the younger guys. Phase out Marte and McNeil and let Baty, Vientos and Acuna play as much as possible. And if you’re not 100% sold on Acuna then call Mauricio up and give him the chance. Vientos is too good offensively not to get going. You can knock him down the order but to me if he’s healthy he should be playing everyday.
 
Jared Young had a 2RHr and a double in this game. Weird but word is Mendy and the organization love him. Pitching version of Griffin Canning?
