New York Mets 2025 Season

If Alonso had left as a free agent after last season, he would be remembered in a much better light than the way he will now because of the team’s season ending failure.

The team has no leadership. If Bregman opts out in Boston he’s a guy I’d bring here. He’s a winner and a guy who gets it done. McLean looks like the real deal but they need more pitching. I deal McNeil and they need a center fielder.

I think Pete had the best BA with RISP.
McNeil was lousy and disappointing this season.
I don’t see them getting enough talent to make them significantly better in 2026.

A huge problem is that we have a bunch of .260 hitters. Yes we don’t view BA. The same anymore. However, our two best players (Lindor and Soto) are .267 and .263 respectively. Nimmo slots in perfectly at .262. I mean it does reflect our inconsistency if nothing else. McNeil at .243 is just utterly unacceptable.

Plenty of blame to go around for a team that went in the tank after a 54-33 start.

Mets have come up very small when it counted.

They had a lineup of 9 guys whose at bat song should have been "All or nothing at all"

New York Mets errrrr CHOKE ARTISTS doing their usual thing. Not even the 765 Million Dollar Man could save them. Once again New York remains a YANKEES TOWN….😂😂😂😂

Come here just to rub salt in the wounds.

You are and always will be a classless and useless troll of a poster.

More I think about it, Yankees fans have been essentially begging for Boone to get canned for like half a decade now

It feels like wishful thinking that Mets fans are gonna be free of Mendoza after one disappointing season lol

Granted Carlos Mendoza never hit any iconic home runs as a Met so maybe that makes things less complicated

Time will tell

I’m glad this season is over. These guys had no heart and showed it getting shut out with a playoff spot on the line. Pete opting out immediately shows you the team was a mess on the inside.

My fear with cohen is he doesn’t really care about winning and this is all about money, the real estate and casino deals.

I don’t know what next year holds for this team. They need to find some gritty, professional bats with heart. Hopefully a couple of young kids take some of the spots and at least show some fire. Our pitching staff is more or less set, so I guess we just need to hope for better health from Senga and Manaea.

I love baseball at its best. The grass, ballparks with their own dimensions and character, the colorful history, even the trudge to the stadiums, crowds thickening as you get closer. In stadiums there is camraderie, high fives to strangers. Half the stadium.in your team's gear, often jerseys of current and bygone players.

At its best you hang on every pitch, moan the close calls on pitches, can feel rallies coming, fans at once urging their team on and sensing big moments. It's a symphony really, with the crowd providing percussion as they chant in unison.. Let's... Go... Mets... it feels like tge crowd is at times the conductor, directing players to great heights.

We had about a half season of great baseball. Ok. Very good baseball. But the expectation was there. They were going to bust loose. 100 wins, maybe 105. Powerful lineup that wasn't hitting yet. Patchwork pitching staff that was somehow stitched together like a tapestry or quilt more likely. It was cheap, but it was brilliant. Until it all unraveled.

Worst collapse in Mets history. This wasn't losing 7 game lead with 17 to go. Or winning 101 games but still being overtaken by the Braves. This was horrible baseball for nearly the entire 2nd half of the season.

The first act was like the musical Wicked. After intermission, instead of a better second half, the play was wicked. Wickedly bad.

For a few weeks a Mets rep has been after me to renew season tix I had from 2006 thru 09. They have some creative flex plans. They pressed me to pull the trigger 10 days ago. I'm glad i didn't. It will be easy now to say no, and easier for that person to back off.

Baseball for a fan sucks when your team loses. It's boring and ugly and too slow. For a fan this is like a bad stomach virus. Your body wants to expel everything it has inside and not look back.

In a few days I'll feel better but I'm sick as a dog. The team deserved this. They had no business being this bad. R.I.P Ed Kranepool. How you lasted 18 years in the bigs, all with the Mets, speaks volumes.

The lot of you can disagree with me all you want, but you don’t get to make up my mind for me. Alonso had a GREAT year, did all you could ask from a player. Had a lot of big hits, great defensive plays. Yes he made errors, he is not Keith Hernandez.
As a member of the TEAM he is part of the group that wasn’t good enough but as an individual player, I put no blame on him, same with Soto.
Just because a lot of you don’t understand the ups and downs any player has over the course of a season, and the nature of sports in general, not my problem.
Cry over what you feel should have been all you want but the nature of sports, the greatness of sports is you never know, any given day, etc., etc.
The Mets TEAM wasn’t good enough, from an overrated (at least this year, with a bloated payroll and poor player evaluation) GM, through the manager and players. The standings prove that.
Finally, I do get a real kick out if a group of fans that can praise Brett Baty to the heavens and then knock Pete Alonso but then many of you proved the nature of fans by turning on Luis last year,

2026 lineup as of today:

1B: ?
2B: McNeill
SS: Lindor
3B: Baty
C: Alvarez
LF: Nimmo
CF: ?
RF: Soto
DH: Vientos

Payroll drops from $341M to $228M.

Is Carson Benge the future CFer? Jett Williams?

What FAs are out there?

Who do you try to unload?

What do you do?

I think Nimmo/Vientos will DH and two young kids in the OF. Benge did poor at AAA, so maybe not from day 1.

Outside of Pete and Josh Naylor there isn’t many attractive options at 1st. Unspent be shocked if we do something internal there.

What makes you think a lot of us don’t understand the ups and downs of any player over the course of the season ?

And no offense but who cares about changing your mind ? None of us agree with you

Last year you were literally complaining the entire regular season and look where our team went.

For the record to be clear in regards to Pete my complaint specifically is yesterday. He had an excellent statistical year

Leaders lead and lead by example. Yesterday post game I don’t want to hear anything about it was his right to opt out

It absolutely is his right and I don’t blame him at all for opting out

But yesterday he put himself over the team announcing opting out when our season literally just ended on the worst way possible

Leaders don’t do that. Whether they are going to be on the team or not they set an example for others by not putting themselves over the team

If he announced it next week I’d have no problem with it

Diaz is in the same opt-out position as Alonso, but he did not respond when asked.

Not to mention Diaz had a great season. And I think he is just as, if not more valuable, than Alonso.

As we witnessed, it is extremely rare to find relievers who are this good for so long.

You can just admit you only watch when the Mets are at-bat.
