Just curious on how the four new incoming players would be ranked in order of their expected contributions?
Seems to me this way:
1. Williams
2. Sima
3. Johnson
4. M'Vouika

Where would Ellison fit in

Johnson is the only one with high level D1 experience (and success) so he has to be the clear No. 1.

So right now CO, Williams,Johnson and Jordan would be 4 of the 5 starters you think? Either point guard or Amar the 5th?

Yes. That is exactly my 4. We need another guard to join Jordan in backcourt.

I liked Williams youtube clip? lol
Not as much as Lovett's who would immediately become my favorite SJU point guard since Barkley based solely on his clip

Not a lot of room for debate on this one

1. Johnson
3. Williams
6.. Mvouika
12. Sima

Johnson is big, he can shoot, he's the toughest guy on the roster, he can guard, and he is proven and experienced at a high level under a coach that stresses defense. People keep pointing to the 8.8 points he averaged two years ago, but he averaged 13 ppg through two exhibitions last year before being suspended, and he was expected to contribute at least that much through the season. I think hell give us 14-15 ppg and bring it on offense, defense, and on the glass.

I love the Williams addition. I have no idea about his defensive ability or his handle, but offensively he is fundamentally sound and can score any way imaginable. As a JUCO it might take him a year to get going fully, but I expect him to be solid from day one.

Mvouika has too many moving parts for my liking. Seems a little rushed. But, he has good looking release to his shot and above average handle from what I can see on him. No idea about his defense, but Missouri State is a very solid program from a very solid conference. He backs up two key positions and was raised as a PG...plus he can shoot the ball effectively and we need that. Impressive addition by the staff.

Sima has great potential. I'm not sure what we can expect out of a 6'11 freshman center. I hope posters are willing to give him some time to develop before writing his career's obituary. AA might have to start off as our backup center (and PF), but it's nice to have a kid that big and with that kind of promise waiting in the wings.

I think Sima could play a bigger role than we may think. I know he's a freshman but he has the ability to impact the game defensively in a bigger way than some of these other guys may offensively.

Obviously a lot of it's going to depend on Mullin's style though. We can guess, but we won't really know in any specific way until we see a few games. It's fun to guess though so.... Based on how he played and the type of players they've been getting, my guess is he'll want a versatile group with as many shooters as he can on the floor. So having CO and Sima out there together probably wouldn't happen too often in that scenario. It's also why I can see Mullin putting a lot of work into bringing Amar along and turning him into a bigger contributor. Just a hunch that Amar may be the type of guy that suits his style.

Really looking forward to seeing Williams. I think that guy is going to be huge for us. Really happy about picking up Johnson too. Great to get some more experience and athleticism on board.

Sima, like most bigs, will need time to develop. Spot duty perhaps, but he won't get significant PT. Marillac is right about being patient with him

Unacceptable! I expect 39 quality minutes a night from this guy. The season and Mullin as head coach are a failure if Sima doesn't make All Big East 1st team as a freshman.

Moose, how competitive do you think we will be next season?

Monte seems to be getting his way - building a program w solid 3 star players, no?

No clue. But I'm on record saying we need to finish above 500. I think its imperative to keep good vibes and attention moving forward. I will never subscribe to the idea of a throwaway year .

I don't think Mullin's goal is necessarily to build the program around 3-stars--other than transfers, that's basically all that's available at this late date.

We've also got one 5-star (Jordan) and two 4-stars (Obekpa, Johnson). All with significant experience. I'm starting to get pretty optimistic about next season.
