New Basketball Training Facility

Man take a look at this place. Idaho’s on campus arena. Holds 4,200. Yes I know Idaho is different than NY. Not sure what our answer is but I don’t think it’s CA long term.

They also have one of the most unique football arenas, albeit on the other end of the beauty spectrum.

What’s up with the rendering they had posted at the lunch. I see a picture of the the practice facility above and and actually model of what below? Would that be a remodeled Carnesecca Arena?

Let's call it 200m. For what, 8 games a year tops? Not offense to the other sports, but I'm not really sure women's basketball or volleyball would benefit so much from this that the basic ROI changes.

Just out of curiosity if the money and space were there, how many seats would you put in a new arena?

Zero. I would use the money to create the LouLou, Lou Carnesecca Court at domed Louis Armstrong Stadium at the Tennis Center and take the huge surplus of funds to establish shuttle bus service from the Flushing Line and LIRR to campus on an on-going basis. Extra buses could be added on game night.

Genius idea. Respect. Even the nickname of the facility is brilliant.

6500-7500. Modern aesthetic. Comfortable. Loud... Idk what that costs and what the options are regarding a full tear down, expansion/remodel, or a different location.

I just think that as little as it may be a current pressing issue with our recent success, a BE and (hopefully) successful program will need a better facility. Eventually something will have to be done.

It’s never gonna happen even talking about is as pointless as hoping msg beer prices go down. Forget the fandom look at it purely from a business pov how on earth does it make financial sense unless you are building some arena / concert combo and good luck with the neighbors.

It's fine to have an old venue as long as you can make modern renovations as needed. That has been difficult, due to the original construction plan and size. There is really no good solution at this point.

You think the Carnesecca arena you go to now will be the Carnesecca arena you go to in 20-25 years?

I’ve resigned myself to knowing we will never even get AC. It is what it is. With MSG who cares. Even I don’t

I think it's possible 20-25 years from now they have turbo chef ovens and are selling nachos with real melted cheese

But other than that it will still be no AC and less bathrooms than my house and benches so bad upper level there is finally a clASS action lawsuit

Also thing there will be a lobster roll food truck across at games

Heads up to everyone going to Queens for games, parking is going to be tougher and more scarce so if you can leave earlier than normal...Gate 4 parking by the soccer stadium is already gated off for construction

20-25 years ago did you think CA would be the same as the one you go to now?
It’s not though. You mean the wooden highschool bleachers? And I think the renovations are close to peaked.

Nice fantasy idea but the USTA owns all that and that's about as probable as...pretty much any fantasy idea.
