#20 Marquette: 3 seed (106/106 brackets)
#19 Villanova: 5 seed (106/106)
#49 St. John's: 9 seed (106/106)
#61 Seton Hall: 12 seed (85/106)
#54 Butler: 1st team out (48/106)

Interesting how both St. John's and Seton Hall are 6-6 in conference, yet St. John's is significantly ahead and very safely in. You'd think that Seton Hall would get some more respect given they beat teams like Maryland and Kentucky. The problem is they just barely squeaked by most decent opponents OOC, which hurt their NET.
This formula is a joke. Must have been cooked up by a Princeton grad. Look at Hofstra. They have played high school teams and are up there with St. John's and Seton Hall.
. Agree with you on Hofstra . I also think Nevada is over rated at 7 on latest polls They would be mid pack or worse in the BE . It would be interesting to see a Gonzaga in the BE too. They rarely get any real competition from any team in their conference , except St Mary’s . Based on recent years , Villanova and Gonzaga would likely dominate at the top of the BE pyramid but, they wouldn’t go unbeaten for sure .
There is no way in the world Nevada would be a middle of the pack BE team. That's nuts.
"Or worse" would suggests they could finish near or in the basement of the conference. Yikes!

They made the sweet 16 last year!

No. 7 seeds

St. John's 19-7
Maryland 19-7
Washington 20-5 (Pac-12)
Ole Miss 18-7

Lowdown: St. John's is stacking up impressive victories in the Big East with two against Marquette and Sunday's win over Villanova. That offsets some of the bad losses on the schedule and has coach Chris Mullin on track to make his return to the NCAA Tournament with the Red Storm.

Wow - this one has Georgetown as a 12 seed!

In today's NET update, St. John's is now #46 (previously #49).

Q1 wins (H Top 30, N Top 50, A Top 75):
Vs #43 VCU (N)
Vs #19 Marquette (H)
Vs #63 Creighton (A)
Vs #19 Marquette (A)
Vs #20 Villanova (H)

Current may become Q1:
Vs #79 Georgetown (A)

Upcoming may become Q1:
Vs #85 Providence (A)- currently Q2
Vs #19 Marquette BET (H)
Vs #20 Villanova BET (H)

I can't see us finishing with any worse than 4/5 Q1 wins. Last night's win was massive.

Do you think Seton Hall has a shot to be Quad 1 if we beat them next weekend? The problem with that and the Providence game us by beating them, it lowers their NET. I see Seton Hall is 61.

I'm actually feeling positive about our seeding potential. I believe someone posted a quote that the Big East is in charge of presenting our case to the NCAA when it comes to the tourney. I feel good that they will give us credit for the Seton Hall loss, and explain two of our losses came without Ponds and Heron.

Since Seton Hall is currently #60 >3/4th of the way through the season/BET, I think they have basically a 0% chance at finishing top 30/Q1. They are one team that is severely undervalued by NET due to all their close OOC wins. Not a big deal for us though, our Q1 resume is excellent and we don't necessarily need another.

I know we have a Creighton guy on the committee, but didn't know the conference presents their case. That is great news for us. Maybe the Hall game was all part of their master plan to get both of us into the Dance.

We owe payback to providence DePaul and seton hall. If we are able to take care of that business and then at the very worst split with Xavier (would hope we can sweep them) a 3 seed is definitely within reach for us. But let’s take care of business at hand here and make this a very special season. Peak at the right time and make some serious noise!!!

I’ve been eyeing this all year. My prediction was a 7 seed in south. Jax would almost be a home game for us with all the snowbirds and cheap flights from NYC.

One thing to remember:

We don't have to be in the South Region, to be placed in Jacksonville the first weekend. The pod system allows you to go anywhere.

6 votes in the coaches's poll, tied for 32nd.

Marquette 10th in one poll and 11th in the other. If Marquette beats Nova a second time they will likely wind up a top 10 team barring other bad losses. That would be great for us. We are probably sitting at around a 7 or 8 seed now, but a strong finish could move us up a couple of spots (5 or 6) which would be huge.

I was just looking around at the rankings and saw Buffalo ranked at #25. In looking at their schedule the biggest win they have is against Syracuse. They are 21-3 with losses to Bowling Green (conference co leader), Northern Illinois and a blowout loss at Marquette (101-85). They have an early win against West Va. but Huggy Bear's squad is a tire fire.
Anyone have any idea why Buffalo get so much respect? Am I missing something?
They have a rematch with BGSU.If they lose that there is a real good chance they don't dance. I assume they still have shot at conference championship tournament (automatic bid)? Not sure why this team is ranked.

Probably in part because of their run last season.

Maybe. Not that it matters yet but that Top25 spot seems very generous.

You might be surprised to know they're ranked #10 in RPI. They have two wins vs Toledo who is apparently #39 in RPI. The San Francisco win is also considered good.

They're #23 in NET. Unfortunately they won't have much margin for error. Not many Quad 1 win chances.
