Think PAC and BIG 12 have strongest teams remaining but with this tourney who knows.

I guess all that talk about the Big East looking weak was premature.

And the SEC should have four teams and ACC shouldn't have any.

Agreed and both conferences could still place 3 teams in the Final 4. That can't happen! That's a Big East record that needs to stand.

What record is harder to break? Joe D's 56 game streak or the BE final four record?

Someone will hit in 57 straight games eventually. Some mega bb conference may someday overwhelm the NCAA tournament. No school will ever reproduce what UCLA did under Wooden: four perfect seasons and 10 national championships in a row. Luigi (he's italian) Auriemma (11 NC total) need six more straight for the tie.

Wooden did not win 10 championships in a row, he won 10 in 12 years.

Duke loses. How come !! Don't play 2nd round in North Carolina as usual but placed them as close to home as possible- South Carolina. Committee failed Duke placed South Carolina in South Carolina, Happy that they loss ,only 1 ACC team left out of 9. I am tired of Duke placed favorably especially along with the ACC.

Won 7 in a row and you stated, 10 in 12 years losing in year 11 to David Thompson and NC State.

Nobody is going to break Joe DiMaggio' s streak the way he did. With power never bunting and in death valley at Yankee Stadium at that time.

No one can break the BE record this year.

The two conferences with a chance to tie it each need to have nine straight games go their way.

I want the BE 1985 record to stand since we formed part of that 3 headed monster. Just wish we had won it all.

ACC lucky to have one team left, take that Bilas and Vitale. ND goes down, nice.

I just wish the BE had a better showing.

I'm rooting for Kentucky and Cal since he goes to roman Catholic mass and communion every morning. Crazy reasoning, but also why I'm rooting for Xavier and Gonzaga, only small catholic schools left in it.

this article made me smile......shocking to see it was from espn's website....

Even if a 16 team conference gets 3 teams to the final four it doesn't come close to equaling 3 out of 9 teams that made up the 1985 Big East.

Never mind 3 0f 9 Boston College was a win away 4 out of 9

The Big East in 84-85 was certainly one of the toughest leagues of all time if not the toughest. The nine teams lost 102 games, of which 72 were vs one another in the regular league competition, 8 in the big east tournament vs one another and SJU and Geo both lost to a league member in the NCAA tournament. That leaves 20 losses for the nine teams vs out of league opposition.

And SJU beat the NCAA champs three times, but could not get past Georgetown to do it a fourth.

But if St. John's could have beaten Georgetown, there was no way they were losing to either Memphis State (back then they used the State) coached by Dana Kirk or Villanova coached by Rollie, Kirk kidded around that he didn't belong in the final Four since he was Protestant and coached the only non-Catholic school in the FF.

Real good game between Michigan and Oregon. Was pulling for Michigan. Thought Wilson took a bad shot after the time out and they waited a second or two too long to make the move for their last shot. Thought with two fouls to give on Michigan's last possession Oregon would have used them but they it worked out well for them.

That Gonzaga-WVU game scared the crap out of me. I need to stop picking the Zags to win it all, because even when they win they cause me severe heart problems.

I had flash backs of Phil Greene (who I liked but his over dribbling killed me sometimes) during the last 17 seconds.

Two huge offensive rebounds and retain the ball with about 17 seconds to go down three and then you don't get a shot off!!!
