NCAA Tournament

I was somewhat conflicted on Texas - Xavier game because in the two brackets I entered for a fee I had Texas & the Zags going all the way. I can't win the pool(s) because I also had Marquette & Purdue (what a dope) making the final game, but might finish second if Texas were to win it all.
I caught the important ending to the KState- Mich State game . Lots of these teams still playing are almost all heavy in the Portal . No well had a record breaking performance .But , those 35 foot shots at the end of regulation were atrocious . Surprisingly , he had no intention of passing the ball to teammates on those last possessions . How did he and Massoud escape our Recruiting ? Nowell is about the same size as Posh . Wonder if they ever played against each other ?

Does anyone know the odds on this storybook team,
going all the way and winning this.

Resident bookies and/or elitists please advise, when do I pull the trigger here? Personally got a bad feeling Miami is gonna take out Texas next round or else I’d be more inclined to roll the dice on this random 15$ bet I put down after last years tourney ended.

This elitist has Miami but in general I’ll rely on experts like Eric and Monte. Eric won big $ on Miami last night

Let it ride says the gambler in me!!! But I have been quite the mush lately. Someone needs to put me in the bathroom.

I hate to say it but I think those scumbags in Storrs are winning the whole thing. Cannot wait to see some obese folks in Marlboro red sweatshirts celebrating then pissing me off by walking in on the shoe at Mohegan.

I liken it to George Mason getting to the final 4 as an 11 seed back in 06. But this FAU team is better then them as they won 30 games and their conference tourney.

It all depends on how you value the $134 cashout. If you aren’t a high roller let’s say then that is a great investment already on your $15 wager. Obviously the $765 is better but you still need to win 3 more games to get that.

If it’s me I roll the dice as Texas has been really good lately. But they do have a tough game against Miami. They are 4-5 point favorites which would be around a +200 money line or so my guess so if anything I probably wouldn’t cash out but hedge some money on Miami.

Thanks Eric. Any best guess on what they might offer me on the cash out if they were to beat Miami and face uconn in the FF?

If uconn wins it all I have a nice 400$ hedge, but if uconn were to beat Texas in final4 and lose in championship I’d be in tough spot.

I had hedged it prior with a houston bet and had some Xavier money. I do this every year with some futures and have had nice success but can only hedge so much before I’m eating into all the potential winnings lol.

Depending on who is left at that point I would say roughly 350-400 to cashout with 2 games left to win.

Yea hedging is always tough because you just wanna win the original bet and don’t want to eat into those winnings. But of course if that didn’t win then you getting something back. I hate hedging lol.

So if you are hedging out too much money already maybe just stick with the money line for less money on Miami so u would double up instead of taking the spread and can still lose if Texas won?

I’m gonna let it ride through the next game at least 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cashing out is always mathematically incorrect. If you feel like Miami is going to win and you want to hedge put X dollars on Miami money line. That way Miami wins you still get paid and if texas wins your rolling less the X amount of money you paid for the Miami insurance policy. This is the long way of saying Sports books take a bigger vig on the cash out than they do on winning straight bets, because they don't think bettors will have the patience to work out a hedge that is right for them.

The weird thing is I thought the portal would hurt the smaller schools because they would lose their best players. I'll stick to finance because I certainly cant predict hoops
Yeah, the opposite is true. That kid who thought he would start at Kentucky but who is the tenth man isn't stuck there for four years

Agree. At this point I would play the Miami money line if I were to hedge it.

Right, and not like I don’t have the 50 bucks to hedge this time but I do find it somewhat farfetched when some use the argument on a 6 figure potential cash out. You would need close to 5 figures on hand to hedge that.

You and Eric not sure how you don’t work in finance with all the hedging risk talk :)

I am Greedy--I want TWO Big East teams in Final Four. It enhances the strength of the league reputation (maybe committee sees us a 6 team league in future as all the FB conferences are over rated). I know that means UConn but think about Creighton beating them in the ultimate game of the season.

Tonight Sonogo/Timme match up is incredible; hope it lives up to pre game hype and no tick tack fouls called.

Exactly what I am hoping for.
