St. John's connection of sorts in the second game here ( UVA -Belmont)

Al McGuire started his head coaching career at Belmont (Abbey) way back when.

Two different schools Kevin. Belmont is in Tenn & BA is in Belmont, NC.

Nice to see Bob Huggins again on the sidelines. Haven't seen him in I don't know how long. I've always liked him as a character, especially with the running suits he always wear.

Think about this, he's missed the NCAAs 3 times since 1991. That's 23+ years.

And it's not like he's been at blue blood programs: Cincinnati, WVU, K-State

Thanks, Desco. I did not realize that.

But here's the real question for you; What do you think of his sense of fashion? ;)

who was the senior player he had at WVU a few years back who blew out his knee in the tourney. The guy was a sure fire 1st round pick who had his dreams blow up in flames and Huggins was covering him on the ground talking in his ear for what seemed like an eternity

Da'Sean Butler.

By the way, in case no one noticed, UCONN was knocked out of the NIT last night by Arizona State.

Obviously they were not interested in playing having been the National Champion and then relegated to the NIT. Hard for Ollie to reach them at that point.

Boatwright was a DNP due to injury sustained in SMU conference title game. Not a UConn fan by any stretch of the imagination, but his absence speaks volumes about the outcome.

Ha ha. Relegated?! Love it. Couldn't happen to a smugger program. Enjoy life in the AAC Huskies! Relegated like a 2nd division English football team.
