NCAA Tournament Thread

By the way, in case no one noticed, UCONN was knocked out of the NIT last night by Arizona State.

Obviously they were not interested in playing having been the National Champion and then relegated to the NIT. Hard for Ollie to reach them at that point.

Boatright didn't play I think.

I was hoping for 5-1, with the Friars the only loss. Their fans are insufferable. I hope Dunn goes pro as well, which he should because he will likely be a first round pick (and with his injury-history, can't pass up that guaranteed contract/cash).

Hate to see the big east go 0-2 tonight but I hate the friars fans so much this is fine with me

We all lament (and rightfully so) about not having won an NCAA tournament game since 2000. I was surprised to see on the broadcast, that Providence has not won since 1997. They've had some good players in that time, too. Gomes, Brooks, Cotton, Dunn, Henton, I would have thought they would get at least one win in that time.

Not looking to throw stones from the glass house. It just surprised me, that's all.

Dunn definitely looks like a pro, he should go late in the 1st round. They had a big run together in BE tournament the past 2 years.

Congratulations to Xavier on reaching the sweet 16. College basketball is a funny thing when making comparative analyses. Steve Lavin and St. John's beat Xavier twice when we had a full team and lost to Nova twice when we had players injured. In Philly Jay Wright rubbed it in our face while Xavier played us with class. That is the definition of Karma.
As for the rest of the tournament Kentucky may win it all with 9 NBA interns playing but we will graduate our seniors ( something Kentucky has not been doing since Masiello was a senior) which leads me to an old UK bashing joke:
Q: Why do the Kentucky Wildcats basketball players use body heat activated deodorant?
A: Because it's the closet they will come to getting a "Degree".

Good night.

College basketball has to reduce shot clock to at least 30 seconds & go to NBA three point line to extend defenses. These low scoring games in my opinion are getting boring. You may as well wait for end of game to see final several plays. (although with a half hour of commercials, TOs, etc)

I wouldn't have a problem moving the collegiate 3-point line to the NBA's line. But I'd probably move it to the international 3-point line for a few years before moving it to the NBA line.

I also wouldn't have an issue to shortening the shot clock to 30 seconds. Actually, I'd be all for it.

I, immediately thought of Virginia when you mentioned the low scoring games becoming boring. My brother and I was talking about their games last week. Occasionally, it can be hard watching 'em play.

I'm watching them now. They trailed 25-18 at the half. Great defense but atrocious and methodical on the offensive end.

Watching Va vs MSU it would not have been very pretty watching Pointer against either of these two front lines.

I should not have bet against Mich State. Even in a seemingly down year they show up at the end. Izzo is great and shows coaching has a huge influence on success in college ball.

Four mInutes into the game and SDSU has missed ALL their shots against Duke. This was the Aztec team I thought we were going to face.

As bad a team we became the last three, and as undermanned we were, we would have given Puke a better game.
