I said yesterday not to sleep on Colorado. PAC 12 looks much improved.
Pac 12 the big winner of the dance so far. Them and the Big 12. Although I personally think one Big 12 team is gonna get upset today (Kansas)

Now may be time to take a knee GT

Colorado's floor spacing and exposing Ewing's propensity to double the ball are Georgetown's demise.

Whether it is pick and roll or dribble drive, Colorado has been money.

Georgetown embarrassing the Big East right now. They look nowhere like the team that ran through the BET. Oh well. First Big East team to go down.

I don't know about anybody else on this board, but I really don't like the NBA analysts from TBS commenting on the tournament. I know they do it every year. And every year I hate it.

Last week was the perfect storm, so to speak, for Georgetown.  Familiarity with the teams, good matchups, some luck (like hitting all 23 of their freebies versus Villanova in a one point win), and catching lightening in a bottle.  They aren't as good as they looked last week and they're not exactly as bad as they look now.  But I'll say today is probably closer to how they are as a team versus last week's team.

They still have a ton of time to come back and win this game as there's an entire half remaining.  But Ewing is gonna have to try something differently defensively.  It's gonna be tough for the Hoyas as well being Colorado was one of the top 25 in defense this season.  IMO, it showed in the first half.

I had a feeling this could happen being Georgetown was the sexy pick for many people.

Neither do I.  I don't care for it either.

Overall I agree but Barkley does crack me up sometimes his busting on Alabama fans 15 minutes ago was pretty funny

Well the Georgetown run through the Big East Tournament was a nice story... but it’s getting late early here at Hinkle.

Gives you an idea of how weak the Big East was this year, and should Georgetown lose handily, is a poor reflection on our league.   It's not a huge leap to think it diminishes our 10-9Big East record.

Georgetown is just proving ultimately they are not much better than their record, mediocre. Ewing gave the school a Christmas gift this year with that run thru BET.

This was always a two year run after debacle last year. Next year he should have the horses to make a jump into upper half of conference.

Looking at the body language of the Hoyas, and that last defensive effort on the 2 on 1 against them, they look like they've given up. I know they're down by 24, but I don't know if I've ever seen a team so blatantly look like they don't want to be on the court anymore.

Ridiculous.  Georgetown was not a good team.  They caught a break with their tournament draw, plus they hit their stride at the right moment and Ewing can coach.  But their snapshot in time is not reflective of anything other than that - it says nothing about the league or any other team in the league as a whole.

Let's see what Creighton and UConn do.  If the Big East goes 1-3 in the opening round games then it will be fair to compare it to ... the Big !0 and the ACC, who have also stunk the joint out in the tournament thus far.  But if the Big East goes 3-1 while the ACC and Big 10 keep losing teams, it's going to be hard to see how the Big East is "weak" comparative to those leagues.

The issue this year is that the year as a whole is screwed up everywhere.  Hard to say anything definitive about anyone.  And certainly how one team does or doesn't do in the tournament says absolutely nothing about some other team.

I don’t know... to me it doesn’t really diminish anything. Some conferences have had an awful start to this tournament. I think people fall into the trap of trying to make sweeping statements about certain conferences based on what happens to their teams in a single elimination crapshoot type tournament

it’s fun fodder for us to talk about as the games play out. But a couple weeks from now no one will remember any of it
