NCAA Tournament 2022

A clean block by St. Peter's was called a foul.

St. Peter's is in an early hole down 7-0.  The next 3-5 minutes are gonna be quite crucial for the Peacocks.

Refs want UNC in final 4. You can tell by early fouls they are calling

In any other year, CBS would take a 15th seed cinderella in the Final Four.  But, North Carolina vs. Duke in Coack K's last year is too big of a draw.  I sincerely hope there is no outside influence, but ya never know.

St. Peter's is done.  This is why I was sort of rooting for Purdue on Friday night.

The fact that I highly dislike UNC was the reason I had a feeling today's game would go this route.

Regardless. an amazing run by St.Peter’s.
Next weeks Final Four will have 4 of the baddest boys on the block competing, but the story of 2022 will be that small school from Jersey City.

From Villanova: Justin Moore suffered a tear in his right achilles tendon in the final minutes of Saturday's win over Houston & is scheduled to undergo surgery this week. He will be sidelined indefinitely.

Just awful.  Feel bad for the kid and this definitely hurts Nova's chances.

If Halloway does end up at Seton Hall and does not take any players with him, if I’m coach Anderson, there are a couple of players on St Peter’s I would  inquire about re. a transfer.

I am surprised it is not a complete tear.  If you watch the replay You can see it “pop” when he makes his move and the way his leg just “kicked” out.  Feel real bad for the kid and with Longino who was starting to get some minutes towards the end of the season and the Big East Tournament out after just having knee surgery, they sort bench is really short now.

Just awful news for Justin Moore. I really loved watching this Nova team; talk about getting the most out of your talent. They will be just too thin to beat Kansas, but one team in final four and one in sweet 16 is a very solid year for the league. Eat your heart out Big Ten & SEC!

While Houston defended him tightly , I thought Gillespie was more than a little gimpy on Saturday .   Wright has used Moore and Daniels to bring the ball upcourt frequently and let Gillespie not be burdened by that extra effort .  Now it will just be Daniels mostly .  I notice Cosby Roundtree on the Bench but , don’t recall him playing Saturday .     With a healthy Moore , I think Nova could beat Kansas but , tough to do now without him .   It also made me wonder why Swider transferred to Syracuse ?  He was a capable shooter and had played quite a bit at Nova .  Maybe Boeheim could offer more PT ?

On the surface, certainly looks like Nova is in trouble with Moore out. I give them the benefit of the doubt  tho. They run a system and contributions can come from anywhere. His toughness and defense will be missed no doubt. I think you give Jay 5 days to work out the rotation with Arch, Antoine, and Daniel's and the system will continue to hum. Kansas looked great in 2nd half but Nova still has a good chance. would have been way worse say losing Moore in 1st minute of Final Four.
