NBA Draft 2025

Would be great not to see another RJ Pitino last 5 minutes of Arkansas game post ever again. It has been beaten to death on here. Can’t we all just get along? 🤠
You mean you don't think the NBA makes draft decisions based on 5 minutes of one game? Way to kill the narrative, bro.

Ok I'm sorry I couldn't help it moving along ....

I'll sidestep the last game discussion, but I will reiterate that I think RJ made the right decision to go pro now. Hearing his name called tonight would make my week, and it would be great for the program. RJ has said all the right things since the season has ended, and I don't think too many people in his situation would have handled it so impeccably.

Again. Damnit.

RJ had a bad game. My take: With two starters sent to the bench with fouls (Kadary played 16 mins before fouling out on a garbage call) and Smith clearly not 100%, RJ tried to carry the teM on his back against a talented, athletic, (underperforming) Arkansas team that could key on him all game.

To say he didn't come to play is just b.s. He tried to do too much, to force the action, because quite frankly, he knew without him making up the slack, we were in bad shape.

It's a circular bs argument but I wouldn't try for a second to take your position. He was benched, and maybe rightly so (I'm not the coach) but to say compare him to a selfish superstar is pure nonsense and pure crap.

Bad game. That's it.

To think of it I'm just as annoyed at the sju fans who flooded Providence who couldn't find MSG or CA early in the season when CA tix were going for $8 on stubhub, or when I couldn't give away extra SHU tix at end of season for $25.

Sorry all. I just can't tolerate crapping on a good kid.

If you read the articles closely, there was some friction with the decision, RJ has not really wanted to comment on it too much (thankfully he has held back as Rick got him to the next level to elevate his game for us to even be talking about him draft week and the great season he had). My only point is some coaches would have just said play him and play him and are scared of a PR pushback. Rick is not and frankly if RJ makes it someday he is going to reflect and know it was the right lesson. Zuby was the MVP of that game on our end and was the one really picking up the slack.

The lesson at the next level for RJ is for him to accept whatever role or development is carved out and just run with it and recognize his role. That game was lesson 1. I am not "knocking him" overall all I am saying is Rick is and has had a career of doing his part to help players understand the other parts of things so they can accept everything that comes with the next level. Hopefully RJ gets his name called in round 2 and if not, a 2 way deal I am sure will come his way.

Next year around this time, I am hoping we hear Zuby's name during the draft also.
