I for one am very interested and am looking forward to watching us hoist the NIT trophy.  There is going to be some real good teams in this tournament.  Should be very competitive and we will have to play our best to win.

Who else get in?
St johns, Xavier,

When does it start?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The N.I.T. would be great post-season experience for our younger guys, and a chance for our seniors to have 1 final hurrah.
Since I believe that we have a great chance of dancing next year, getting some tournament time this year is a good foundation.

I'm not sure how we would do in the N.I.T., but I will say that this team was incredibly fun to watch.   I do not remember any SJU team working quite so hard on defense for all 94 feet of court on every single possession.    Unlike past teams, when our guys helped out down low, they quickly recovered when the ball got pitched outside with some really smart defensive switches.    It made watching the entire game compelling, and I became accustomed to DVR ing the game and puasing if I had to get up for a few minutes so I wouldn't miss anything.

The N.I.T. would be like dessert after a very satisfying meal.   We don't need it, the team doesn't need it, but most of us really would like to see this edition of our team play a few more games.

Could not agree more Beast. When we werw 1-5 in conference play we were so frustrating and painful to watch. As the season went on things started to click more and more and itturned out to be a very fun team to root for and watch.

We are all disappointed in the loss to Seton Hall because of the path we could have had toward the Big East championship game and out chance to win but I think we all said before the season that the NIT this season would be a great improvement on last year and having us trending in the right direction.

THe NIT IS important for a young team, to get some tournament experience so that next year, when hopefully we could be dancing, we will have that under our belt.  More pressure games will help condition the guys for the future.

Would be a great experience to go and compete against 15 similar teams. You only get so many chances to replicate a win or go home type atmosphere. It's nothing like the BET but the BET is also nothing like the Big Dance. Gotta take what you can get

What are our chances of making the NIT at this point? Only 16 teams I believe so will be tougher.

We were one of the 8 or so best teams after the 68 yesterday. So you would have to think pretty good. Top 4 finish in BE should at least be good for that.

Over the years teams that had a nice run in the NIT, the following year do very well in the Big Dance.

Let's follow in those foot steps.

March Madness is my favorrite sporting event of the year and I'll watch as many games as I can. Having said that, would love to see us in NIT and no question I'll watch us over any NCAA game!

Do they still have that third post season tourney?  I hope we don't play there.

St johns, Xavier,

Belmont; Drake; at least a couple of teams from B10 like Indiana/Mich St/Minn/Rugters/Maryland wll be in the mix; Colgate if it loses the Patriot; St. Mary's; Duke and at least one or 2 others from ACC; are just a few off the top of my head.  So it may be difficult to narrow the field down to 16.  Plus some schools may not want to do a "bubble" in Texas.

The CBI?  I doubt they play it this season, and if they do play it then I highly doubt we'd participate in it if they came calling.

I feel quite confident we'll be in the NIT field.

Rutgers is headed to the NCAA Tournament.  Indiana, Michigan State, and Maryland are likely NIT participants if they choose to play in it.
