Normally I don’t regret what I say and I really don’t regret what I said in the first half but what I do regret is not believing it was possible to come back from the first half shit show. Although when Simon hit thst 3 I joked around we had a chance. But hands down this was the best second half comeback that I can remember and every team member and staff deserves credit for this and for shutting those Nova fans the fuck up. I’m looking forward to driving up to Providence ( i was going anyway ) but the 6 foot 4 loud guy in the suit will be rooting for you like there is no tomorrow. Let’s go Johnnies !!!

I echo this sentiment. I went home this weekend otherwise I would have been at MSG, but yea I was so angry at how the first half went I turned the game off and told my friends "text me if we cut it to single digits". Next thing I know I get a text from my friend freaking out about the full court shot. I flip the game back on for the second half and I am glad I did. I thought we were done mainly because i still had that bad taste in my mouth from attending the GTown and PC games at MSG, and this was more of the same it seemed.

I truly cannot believe we came back, still. I DVRd the game and am about to watch the second half again and analyze how the hell that just happened

I'm just glad I didn't post during the game... but when we were down 19 I was seriously considering walking out at the half if the route continued.

Turned into the best St. John's game in a long, long time. :)

I’m with you Mike. When we go t back down by 14 in the second half, I turned to my wife and said “Game over.” She rightfully scolded me and said I was too negative and pessimistic. I had given up at that point and was ready to accept a Nova win. Kudos to our coaches and players for this great comeback. And I don’t mind one bit eating crow after a game like this one.

I left 12 minutes in so it’s safe to say my apologies are in order as well. Granted I was surrounded by Nova fans (including my wife) and we just left our 3 month daughter which we rarely do. Naturally I used my wife’s longing for her daughter as an excuse to leave since I was super pissed! Anyway glad it worked out and got to watch the last 10 at home lol

Sound post, dude!

I had our squad left for dead until Simon hit the full court shot at the end of the first half. Then I still had doubts until midway through the second half. I could see momentum shifting, and noticed Paschall and Booth wasn't having the same games as they were when we played 'em at Villanova.

Tonight was fun and a heckuva comeback for this group as a whole. I hope this propels us the rest of the way.

I don’t know why our fans are so surprised. Haven’t we been doing this all year? We’ve been erasing leads against us and letting teams get back in games we had double-digit leads in.

Funny, when Simon heaved it I stood up and said it was going in. Guy in front of me asked if it was wishful thinking or whether I really thought it was going in. Of course, I said the latter.

I had no doubt that we would win the game and was super positive that the coaches would inspire the players to overachieve in the second half. Oh, and you're not 6'4 anymore since you shrink a half inch with each decade. From the picture you posted you are no taller than 6'1 now as OTIS was right next to you and he is only 5'5.

When it was 29-10 and I had this young women/girl with a horribly high pitched voice screaming go Nova in my ear I wanted to leave but there was something inside of me that had still had that optimistic feel I woke up with. When Simon's trick shot and yes it did look good all the way went in, I couldn't believe we were only down 11 and remarked to my son that our defense wasn't that bad and maybe we have a shot. I was annoyed at the staff for not pulling Clark out when he picked up 3rd and quickly his 4th and started to lose faith when it got back to 14 and the ear piercer behind me was still screeching. After that it was a blur as we battled back to get the lead. I was screaming so loud to drown her out. What a win, I muttered some negative comments to my son in the first half but overall I stayed pretty positive and I have little to apologize for this time. And to that Nova fan behind me well I will keep it to myself but it will take a good night sleep to get that voice out of my head.

I'm still in disbelief over what happened today. The team couldn't buy a shot in the 1st half and played awful defense. Then, all of a sudden Simon hits a half court shot and there's life. They come out with a ton of energy and intensity in the 2nd half. Crashing the boards and in their faces on the defensive end. Figueroa and Heron played lights out on both ends.

Saying Simon hit a half court shot is shortchanging it. It was more like 7/8th court.

Second time this year that a shot like that has spurred an eventual second half comeback for us (Ponds vs. Georgia Tech).

Figgy was great, but our fans tonight were the juice we needed. We hustled they roared and the rest is history. A great comeback, another huge win, and with two of our leading scorers rather quiet tonight.

You are definitely not alone. During the first half I posted that the team lacked leaders, both on the coaching staff as well as the players. Well, I was happy to be wrong in the second half. This team simply refused to lose. The defense tightened up, and the ball movement on offense greatly improved. Living here in the Philly area, it has been rough. I can’t wait to wear my St. John’s gear to the gym today!

if i was home and not at the game Paul would of thrown me off the site, i was there with bunch of my boys and getting torched the whole first half, your team sucks same old SJU blah blah blah! and then Holy Sh!take we came back i was going nuts!!!!!:) trust the process!:)

I respect your post MJ, but here is what I don't understand. If I am at the game cheering for St. Johns, why is there a need to post our feelings during the game. The first half was abysmal, even Stevie Wonder could see that. However, I do not see how you can root for your team and post about the terrible coaching and play at the same time. I have no problem with posting after a loss, but during the game does not make sense to me. I can't count the number of times a player has been roasted on this board for making a mistake and then come back and make a great play.

I would love it if all of our personal careers were televised. Most of us are successful in our fields, but I am sure that we all have had moments that we would not want televised. Just think about it for a moment.

I guess what I am trying to say is that while I was frustrated and disappointed during the first half, I saw no reason to share my feelings on Redman.com. Social Media has made us all creatures of "instant gratification", this is what I feel and I have to let everyone know what I feel "right now". The problem with this is that our feelings are not always correct and then we have to eat our words.

I have absolutely no idea what took place in the locker room at halftime but the team came out in the second half much more focused. We fought back, then went down 14 points but did not quit. Who was responsible for this, the same coaches and players that were castigated in the first half. This team, while not great, has shown resilience. Much respect for what they accomplished yesterday.

Maybe we should all try to root for the team during the game and save our critiques for when it is over, Just the opinion of an old man.
