Every game is the same.
1. Give up 3’s like it’s raining
2. The worse the opponent the less we care
3. Keep it close at half
4. Miss at least 10+ pts off missed layups/dunks
5. Win the game in very very sloppy fashion and explain why I’m crazy for suggesting we don’t have a coach. Our talent difference is the only thing bailing us out.
To some of your points:
1. Give up 3’s like it’s raining - 5 of their 7 three's were made by a kid that has 12 total points all year. So yes, you keep letting him shoot all day. The rest of their team was 2-9. Not exactly raining three's.
2. The worse the opponent the less we care - You can't say that they don't care. They just may not be as focused. There is a difference.
3. Keep it close at half - Last time I checked the halftime score doesn't determine a W/L.
4. Miss at least 10+ pts off missed layups/dunks - Agree on this one. Too many missed bunnies
5. Win the game in very very sloppy fashion and explain why I’m crazy for suggesting we don’t have a coach. Our talent difference is the only thing bailing us out. - Games like this you win on talent alone. Mullin doesn't really need to do a whole lot of coaching in this one.
PS - I feel bad for people like you. No matter what, you will never be happy and will always find something to complain about.

I think he needs to rethink his strategy of taking some games off to let others get going. Needs a better balance. We are not good enough to play w/o him on offense.
Offense is not our issue, Clark , Heron and Figgy have all shot well so far. Our lack of effort on defense is infuriating!!!
It is actually pretty incredible. But you do realize that Mullin is not saying "hey take your time getting out on shooters."
The guys have probably been doing it their whole lives.
What are he coaches for if they don’t fix it?? Teams like Michigan go out and fix it.. would
Anybody have played for Jim Calhoun without fixing it?
Fix what exactly? There isn't mechanics involved in closing out on shooters.. Its within a player to do so.

Wrong. Good coaches get consistent effort ALL the time, regardless of their talent level. They demand effort. They demand players play at a certain tempo. This is not on the players. A lot of it is, but coaches have to have control of the tempo their players play at.

Its up to the players to execute.
This happens every game. But not coach’s fault. Can anything ever be? If they sneeze it must be mind control from players.
You know what also has happened every game this year? A win!
I love the wins, but we haven’t played anybody and we are struggling with some awful teams. It’s time to start playing like we should know how to ar this point.
I would be willing to bet that if you asked the entire starting 5 the number of the Barnes kid that is killing us they would not know. Not closing out is lazy, not closing out on the guy killing you is other world lazy.

So how do you suggest the coaches fix it, if it is their responsibility? We go 7 deep. You think we should bench Ponds or Clark for not closing out on shooters and instead play Williams and Earlington because they will try harder?

This is the problem. A lot of people on this Board think we are like Duke, Kansas, Etc and should be winning by 30 at half time every game. Guess what, we aren't! Right now we have no one who is a lock for the NBA. Those teams have multiple guys.

Yes they believe that as it fits their narrative.
I do not believe that the staff is telling them not to close out on shooters and I do believe that the staff is obviously telling them to do so. But, they are not doing it. So, something needs to be done to correct it. Start benching guys. There no reason for a kid who is a freshman on the worst team in D1 who probably wasn’t even rated coming out of high school much less only being a two star or three star kid, should be lighting us up like this. It’s embarrassing!

Got bad news for you. They won't close out against Wagner the same way they won't close out on Nova. They didn't close out last year and refuse to do so this year.

So bench our players, to throw in Freshman who were throwing bricks off the glass, or better yet throw in the walk-ons because they go hard. I mean really cmon you don't believe what your saying. Right?

Gibbs is 2 star recruit, Mount is 0-7 losing on avg by 20 vs. low major teams. Very young.
But we need to be Kansas or Duke to beat them easily? Dear Lord. The mental gymnastics hurt.
MSM 44% from three and outrebounding us by 4. Hard to take anything even close to positive out of this game so far. Let's hope last 10 minutes get a lot better.
