@JonRothstein: St. John's will remove Chris Monasch as Athletic Director, sources told @CBSSports. An official announcement is expected soon. #sjubb

Hopefully they do something here to dispel the "Mom & Pop" shop perception. I want a we a re all in statement with this hire.

Hopefully the school's relationship with Keegan Bradley can be repaired.

Can we do that, though? Anybody who would dispel that is probably making a lot of money at a large football school right now. Why would they come here?

Find an assistant AD at a school that runs their athletic department well, and who has experience in the various nuances of the job.

I don't know who that person is, but a search firm can find a group of well qualified candidates.
This isn't hard.

I don't know enough about Monasch's responsbilities to make a critical performance evaluation. I would say that Mullin's naturally gregarious and warm nature was something Monasch lacked.

Correct or not, you have to give Bobby G. credit for being decisive. I would imagine he had support for this with the BOT. That is, of course, assuming that Monasch hasn't voluntarily resigned with no nudging from SJU.

Sources: Sacramento Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro - who lost authority to Vlade Divac - will be a significant candidate for St. John's AD job.

Has SJU roots.

If he gets the job, it will be another smart hire by Gempesaw. Another former NBA GM involved with SJU, is wonderful advanced thinking. Gempesaw is really going hard to market SJU sports as the preeminent college sports program in the City, and have New Yorkers as the face of the department.

We have to be happy with the direction of the University under Gempesaw's leadership.

And if this is accurate, I'll be a happy camper. SJU should be the preeminent college sports team in NYC – despite what those knuckleheads to the north would have you believe.

How much do GM's make? I'm guessing he'd have to take a significant pay cut to come here.

Great news. I think some people owe Mr. Google an apology.

Why? He was wrong. He said that Monasch was fired in March and it was going to be announced very soon. Everyone on this board knew that it was only a matter of time before he got the axe. It's like Baldi starting a "Thank You for Your Time Rysheed Jordan" thread December 2011 and trying to take credit if he transferred at any point after that.

Let me try...I hear IW is having trouble at SH which will lead to someone leaving the team.
