Mike Rice Hot Water

I am a graduate of SJU, ('94-'98) and have to agree that FH should step down. Admittedly, I don't have close ties to the University anymore, as I've lived in NJ for over 10 years, but SJU is sill Alma Mater after all. When someone is in charge for as long as FH has been, human nature dictates that people will get very comfy. You lose perspective, and frankly, get used to having your butt kissed. While I do appreciate the changes he has brought to the school, getting away from being an all commuter school, to more of a nationwide school, the fact remains that academics IMO have suffered. There really should be a concerted effort to tighten up the entrance standards, and raise our academic profile.

Hello JC,

Would hope that you would consider joining our Alumni Golf outing to be held on Oct. 3 in Spring Lake.

Last year's event as great fun and it will give you the opportunity to re-connect with St. John's and fellow grads.

Rutgers is a BB coaches graveyard and, always will be. The current administration, asked the AD to fall on his sword in the hopes of quieting the furor. And, their President's press conference was a disaster. How long does he survive?

There is a very funny movie making the rounds on Cable tv stations called, "Division 3-Football's Finest.'

Talk about being timely the movie is a riot and stars Andy Dick.. It makes the video of Mike Rice's practices seem tame in comparison.

Check it out.

@JucoRecruiting: Chris Griffin (6-7/SF/2013) of Wabash Valley CC has officially de-committed from Rutgers.

This is going to be a huge pickup for someone.

Is he highly ranked?

When he committed two weeks ago he said: "The coaches all have great relationships with the players too,” Griffin told SNY.tv  “Everyone up here from coaches to players is passionate and loves the game of basketball. I love that."

THEN THE VIDEO CAME OUT.

It's interesting that Rutgers is looking to hire a BB coach before hiring the new AD
Since the AD process is going to take a month or so, I think they're afraid that too many guys will transfer out if a new coach is not named soon
I've also read reports that David Cox (Assoc. HC under Rice) may stay on if Jordan gets the job
Surprised that they wouldn't just clean house. After all, Cox witnessed all of Rice's antics and remained silent.
However, the players want Cox to be the HC. Keeping him on would help stabilize the roster and help with recruiting.
