College hoops was great last season. The big east was great last season. Paying players may make college hoops even better.

Pitino vs Hurley in the garden next year. Are you kidding me?

The big east has the best collection of coaches its ever had. This may be the best, most competitive big east season ever.

StJohns should have their best team in 20 years.

Lets get pumped up buddy!!!!

The problem is that only Big East fans see it that way. When only three teams get to the Dance the rest of the country’s hoop fans see the Big East as insignificant other then Yukon. Change of leadership at the top needed.

I saw Ed Kull last Fall at homecoming. He was very happy at Fordham loved the new President and the investments the school is making towards athletics. Never talked about SJU or the possibility that he would be a future AD candidate there or elsewhere.

But from what I am told he is very comfortable at Rose Hill.

Probably is, but he’d leave Fordham for SJU if offered

Lenny Kaplan bio

John Diffley bio

Hearing that Lenny Kaplan probably isn’t the guy. Worth noting, though, that his wife Nancy worked at SJU for a long time and used to oversee the freshman advisement center.

Why does Shanley think Diffley would be a source of change
Who knows and maybe not change but Diffley currently in charge of the schools athletics facilities and operations..so with the new basketball facility it will likely be high priority in criteria. May also not cost as much if they don't backfill his role.

No idea if Oliva is still calling shots. But, if he is, then we are still subject to decisions that equate to shooting ourselves in the foot.

I also don't know Diffley, so I would reserve judgement. That said, if our biggest NIL donor (by far) wants Kull, I know the right move.

I posted once that I was in a Dunkin Donuts in Connecticut where the Huskies logo was part of the D-D uniform. We need someone who can make corporate inroads such as this... We all know the NIL pipeline will go dry at some point. Putting backs on seats is the least of it.
