MICHIGAN (@MSG), Mon., Nov. 13, 6:30p, FS-1

No doubt the rotation will tighten for this game. Pitino will be tipping his hand as to who the key guys are in his mind for the rest of the season. Of course, that is sans RJ Luis who sounds like he’s a week or two away.

we're going to ride or die with a core 7 on Monday:
Joel
Ledlum
Jenkins
Dingle
Taylor
Alleyane
Davis

The others will fill the holes:
Sim
Conway
Dunlap
Zuby
Drissa

In the post game radio interview, Bob Walsh said they really want Sim to be the PG. That they're working really hard to get him to be that. So i expect him to be a critical piece come Big East
This sounds right to me. I think we see Soriano play 35+ minutes on Monday and Dingle get up to 30+ as well. He is the dynamic scorer that this team does not have. Ledlum up against Olivier will be a fun matchup to see. This will be a very important game for Davis. If he can play 10-12 quality minutes, that can bode well for him in earning regular minutes.

I think this is a good game to get Zuby on Nkhamoua quite a bit and make life hard for him, challenge his shots. Get Ledlum to work on him on offense more.

What time should I get there :)
The Rotation will be what RP wants it to be . Not what we may want it to be . Probably 2 different things .

I think RP has a plan to get Taylor , Luis , Davis , Wilcher , Dunlap , Zuby as much PT as he can while still focusing on winning games this year .

He’s investing in the development of those players as they will be the Core of next years team . We have to trust his judgement and understand what and why he’s doing what he does .

Also too, he wants a frantic pace on Offense and that requires a deep bench to give a break to those going up and down on every possession . I thought that wore down Stony Brook to a nub .

I watched the UCONN game the other day and felt Clingan’s weakness , if there is one , is his Stamina . He only played 13 minutes a game last year and sure a lot of that was Sanogo but , a lot was Clingan not being able to go all out for long stretches .

They do have the kid Samson who is long and quick but , a youngster . He will likely be the back up .

This imo will be very competitive game. Hopefully our aggressive D, which Rick says is work in progress, will be the difference. Rick’s staffs always scout and prepare well so it should be interesting. RP on our sideline v Michigan AC on theirs is a SJU advantage.
Think RP gives us an advantage against any other coach. As for Michigan having to go with an assistant being that that assistant is Phil Martelli that may be an upgrade over Juwan Howard as at the very least he is unlikely to slap somebody and draw a technical foul.

I hate to be pessimistic, but I don't see us taking this one at this point in our season. If this was end of November and more games under our belt, way more likely. We are jumping from Stony Brook to Michigan. Carnesecca to MSG with such a new team. I think we start slow and pick it up later. Final Score: 85-77 Michigan. Also some silly turnovers last night that cannot happen against a legit team.

No idea how the game turns out.

However, Michigan has a fair bit of player turnover themselves. The Head Coach is recovering from a heart procedure and Phil Martelli is filling in. It’s also a pretty big jump from UNC Asheville to St. John’s.🙂

Great time for an early season test. Iron sharpens iron. Good or bad result these are the better games we want to play.
