Mets

I feel bad for David Wright. He clearly is struggling right now. Nothing would make me happier then seeing him get a big hit. I hope Duda can give one a ride as well. D'Arnaud and Cespedes stepped up Monday. Granderson and Murphy have been solid. We need someone else to be the hero tommorrow.

Would love to see Flores be the hero tomorrow. Would be poetic justice for the Utley cheap shot.

I feel Flores is still feeling the effects of the Strep Throat he had.

With deGROM and Greinke pitching we obviously expect a low scoring game. Hopefully, one of our guys hits a two run homer. You are right that Duda and Wright need to produce - it's now or never.

Don't know if this was mentioned before but was anyone more shocked when deGROM got up in the bullpen. Scared the living sh.. out of me. I think Darling told Ripken he wouldn't be against that move because we had Synndegard for Thursday. Thank God Colon came in, however if we had gone ahead in the late innings I probably would welcome deGROM.

I was freaking out. I was hoping a met fan jumped onto the field and knocked collins out and dragged him away

When it comes to the pitching staff I don't trust him for anything

I think all we can expect from Wright and Duda is to go deep in the pitch count against Greinke. A couple of 10 pitch at bats would be nice. We need to get Greinke out of there by the 6th inning. Mets need to get into the Dodger pen tonight.

Not feeling good about tonight. if we lose it was still a good season but it will hurt knowing we had two chances to get into the NLCS and play a team we are better than and a team we'd have home field advantage against

IF I had to guess, Collins and Alderson huddled with deGrom, and asked if he would be okay with pitching to one or two batters if the Mets grabbed the lead. I'm thinking that if the Mets had a slim lead in the 8th, we may have seen deGrom to shut the door and leave it to Familia to close it out. In 1988 Orel Hershiser pitched in 4 games in a 7 game series, including a save in game 4 and a shutout in game 7. Pitchers often throw on their off days, and Hershiser told the Dodgers he would just forego that throwing and pitch in a game instead. Even if the Mets used deGrom for 15 pitches or so, with one day's rest it would not have affected a start tonight much. I'd rather have seen deGrom in the 8th over anyone else if he felt strong.

Water under the bridge. Let's win tonight, and continue what could be a storybook Mets season.

Hard to say that we are better than the Cubs. We did go 0-7 against them this year. I also am not feeling good about the game tonight. jut because Greinke is on full rest and he is so dominant.

Agree on that one, home field means very little in any sport anymore and our erratic hitting and shaky bullpen make it hard for me to say we are better than any team in the playoffs. We belong for sure, but better, hard for me to see it. Facing Kershaw and Grienke 4 out of 5 games is very tough so losing game 2 in such an inane manner really hurts. MLB handed the Dodgers a golden opportunity they just didn't deserve. Having said that, deGrom unquestionably gives us our best chance and we have been resilent all year so.......... But the reality is I am a diehard Mets and SJU fan which means waiting for the "bad" to happen is in my DNA now.

You are both probably right. I just feel like if we could get past the Dodgers we'd beat the Cubs. Being a jet, met, and St. John's fan it's hard to think tonight is going to go well. I'm hoping to be surprised. I just feel like there's a better chance of the Dodgers lineup figuring out how to hit degrom than there is us figuring out to hit greinke. But hey I'm not giving up, I'll be tuned in all the way to the end. Hopefully we can find a way

I was at the game where we broke up Grienke's streak and we won the game. I was shocked we broke up the streak, let alone win. There have been many games this season where we got outstanding pitching and still lost. DeGrom has very little margin for error but we have Syndegaard in relief if we need him which gives us a slight edge in a close game.

We knew going in that facing Kershaw and Greinke four times would would be an up hill battle but to me the toughest thing to accept is that Justin Turner has killed us. The guy is playing like an MVP.

Just got engaged in Prague 4-5 hours ago. The karma is good my friends. Mets 5 Dodgers 3. Lucas Duda awakens to slug a go-ahead 3 run homer in the 4th and the Metropolitans never look back!

Kind of wish we had Strawberry in the lineup. Duda is our next best option.
