Huge credit to Mark Vientos. I mean this is a Rookie who they left behind out of Spring Training.. Now look at what he’s doing.
Sign them both! Get Alvarez at a lower value now. The Braves do this so well. I have no concerns with either guy. It's funny. A lot of us were saying to sign Alvarez to the big extension, but Vientos is really the no brainer!
He's 25 in December, not a free agent until 2030 and hits arbitration next year. Make it happen Stearns
I liked Lagares a lot absolutely loved watching him in the fieldSign them both! Get Alvarez at a lower value now. The Braves do this so well. I have no concerns with either guy.
The last kid we locked up early was Lagares and we missed on that
He was great in the field....looked like a sure thing early his second season when he it like .280. He wasn't bad later, but didn't live up to the trajectory many saw for him. The deal wasn't really that bad at all and we had a buyout, which we exercised.I liked Lagares a lot absolutely loved watching him in the field
But years late. You have to get them year 1 or 2 like the Braves to have leverage.DeGrom was the one Met we did sign to avoid two years of arbitration, but in true Mets fashion, that discount somehow ended up making him sour on our organization.
Matt will get injured.
Darryl Strawberry will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch to Dwight Gooden for Game 3 tomorrow.
Robin Ventura will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch to Edgardo Alfonzo in Game 4.

We don't have many optionsInteresting choices here. One guy who “overslept” for a playoff workout and the other who quit in the middle of a season. Water under the bridge I guess.
Agree, butwould love to see McNeil in the lineup today. Iglesias has fallen off a cliff and I am tired of watching him whiff at pitches 12 feet outside. Give him a rest
McNeil has been a Met since 2018, I think it would mean a lot to him to get to start one of these home games. And when he is at his best at the plate he can be very useful as a contact hitter. If he is healthy enough I would play him tonight
