Looking ahead here, probably premature, but I’d show up tomorrow planning to go Quintana-Peterson-Diaz
I’d be saving Peterson for a possible game 5., 3+ inn. Senga prob only 3 innings .Looking ahead here, probably premature, but I’d show up tomorrow planning to go Quintana-Peterson-Diaz
I forgot we have Garrett we can use as well. Just feel like if we are in a close game and need to get through the top of the Phillies order, might need to go to Peterson cause we don’t have many lefty arms we trustI’d be saving Peterson for a possible game 5., 3+ inn. Senga prob only 3 innings .
Tomorrow Quintana hopefully 6 inn..
If Peterson not needed game 5, he starts game 1 of NLCS
1. Ed KranepoolVientos may officially be the slowest non-fat Met I've seen. He's beaten Wilmer Flores.
All my Queens born and bred buddies are going bonkers with this Mets' run. Good for them. LGM. (Pete drop the "F" from that!)1. Ed Kranepool
2. Rusty Staub (one of the very best position players in our history)
But. Today is a day to celebrate our Mets. The Phillies are a very good team. The Mets have come out of nowhere to be good enough to send Philly packing tonight.
Just about every Stearns move has turned out very well. There wasn't a Clendenon acquisition to put a professional power hitter in the lineup. No mortgaging our our future at the trade deadline.
I'm going tonight. Should be special just to be there.
I'm going to try hard not to be critical in any event because these guys are a special bunch. Tonight could be one of the bright spots in Mets history. If it isn't, I'm certain our guys won't hang their heads. With the same swagger they will go with their ace who may be able to go 4. You just have to love the next tier guys - Marte, Iglesias, Winker coming up big in key moments yesterday.
If Alonso is not here next year, want him to go out in a big way. Wouldn't bet against seeing the best of him tonight.
Lindor - wow. Announcers gave him back handed compliment yesterday when fans chanted MVP as he batted leading off the Mets first, saying he is the Mets MVP. Bullshit. Hope he gets a chance to go head to head vs. Ohtani next week. He msy not be Ohtani but being Lindor could be more than good enough.
Its 7:30 AM and I can't wait for tonight. Good vibe going. I was in Chicago for game 4 clincher a few years ago. Quietly confident today in the same way.
Quintana put a target on his back by accepting he had to up his pitching to get in the playoff rotation. He by and large did that and I believe that has what allowed Peterson to go to the bullpen, although not a move I am in love with. But the proof is in the results and obviously that speaks for itself, with the Mets obviously in the drivers seat. Here we are with a chance to stick a fork in the Phillies.
Ranger Suarez was electric to start the season, but has been extremely mediocre since July.
Quintana has had stretches where he is also mediocre, but has been pitching well his last handful of outings.
We have to end them tonight. LGM!!
First pitch is in one hour and I feel like I am going to have a damn heart attack.Left work early because didn't want to take a chance getting stuck in traffic. LFGM !
But I expect a lot of nerves wracked today
I do admit to being less stressed when the Mets are well below .500First pitch is in one hour and I feel like I am going to have a damn heart attack.
Baseball is all fun and games until your team makes it to October
Last night I was at my granddaughters softball game so taped the game and was waiting until I could see the tape was available on YouTube TV. Stayed away completely from the score only to have my brother text me, “one more to go”. Needless to say, bad/good, the bad being no point in watching the game, the good, I am sure my blood pressure halved!First pitch is in one hour and I feel like I am going to have a damn heart attack.
