Marvin Clark

Never was a mystic, but In order for the cosmos to be back in alignment, we need to win tomorrow night!
Marvin does make some silly fouls, but his fouls the other night had little to do with the games outcome.
The truth is, as fans we tend to dissect everything about a game sometimes magnifying things. A fan says something and
another has to add to it.

The simple truth the other night we played like crap, Marvin did not help, but I think
He is a straw man on this one.
Unfortunately, him getting in early foul trouble more often than not changes the complexion of the game for the worse. Fact that he is guarding bigger guys is a challenge and will lead to fouls, that doesn’t bother me. It’s when he picks up 2 quick ones and doesn’t even attempt to avoid contact.

Time to shine! Could it be any better then a sold out crowd in the World's Famous Arena.

Let’s face it no game is more important for this team than to win over SHU to make up for the ref job where we got hosed the first game. The fact that it will be senior night and Marvin’s family will be there, at MSG, for the first time in their life, and the third time in his college career that his mom will watch him play brings tears to my eyes. I hope and pray this kid has an outstanding night and I Dream of Marvin standing at center court following our win encouraging our fans to cheer and celebrate. Go do it Marvin, tomorrow night is your night to shine.

I think it gets lost of the shuffle that Marvin committed here after a nightmarish 8 win season, then, if memory serves, went to work on recruiting Simon. The current team may have looked drastically different (i.e. worse) had he chosen to play for a more successful school.

Despite his penchant for committing silly and avoidable fouls, I am happy he is on our team. He has been a nice representative of the University.

Marvin has been a wonderful asset to St. John's. He put up a stinker. We all do it. After years of making him defend centers and PFs and also asking him to keep up with guards because we switch on every play, it was inevitable. I support him 100% and am ready for him to help us get to 10 big east wins and into the tournament.

Mullin saying he didn't show up in the press is horrible. Maybe if he should up to any recruits games we would have someone on the team over 6'6''.

I agree. The biggest recruiting faux pas by Mullin has been his failure to recruit a solid BIG so that Marvin and Shamorie would have shined brighter on Broadway. To have the weakest middle in the conference is inexcusable.

I agree, but he is a big kid should br rebounding better and making better decisions on D Think a lot of his fouls are due to the fact that he is not that quick He is suppose to be a good shooter that’s why he is on the perimeter Keita is not going to see much time next yr he is anther player that has no offensive moves and should be underneath grabbing boards What coach said was the truth he did not show up This is big time basketball you have to have tough skin consistently do better and you will not hear any complaints

Many of his fouls are unnecessary, on the perimeter. Has to have more awareness, especially w our thin bench.. Not only did we not get a big, but we lost one(Owens) . He wasn’t a savior, but would have been very important for depth.

Great to see Marv come up big on Senior Night. Nailing big 3 after big 3.
38 minutes, 18 points, 6-10 fg-a, 4-8 from deep, 3 steals, 1 block, diving on the floor for loose balls.
He may have started his career in Spartan green, but he clearly bleeds St. John's red.

Another heart warming story about Marvin who has faced challenges the majority of us can only read about. Dad dying at 3, police arresting his step dad, mother involved in a string of abusive relationships, caring for a bunch of younger siblings, leaving home to improve his grades. No doubt a book could be written on his life. Unlike other players who played at SJU and shall remain nameless Marvin Clark Kent persevered both on and off the court will graduate university and hopefully will make good money playing pro ball somewhere. I am sure his mom and siblings were beaming with pride on Senior Night , as all parents do, but especially knowing all he has been through. I take my hat off to Marvin Clark. He truly is representative of the St. John’s mission. Bravo Marvin

I recently heard an interview with Dennis Rodman who is much brighter than his eccentric and flamboyant behaviors suggest. Rodman had a similar experience growing up, and to hear Rodman that is the rule and not the exception in the projects. Never wise to cast a wide net on circumstances like this, but suffice to say, Clark has persevered through a lot, and can't wait to see what future successes on and off the court await this kid.
