Have you ever seen a kid play so recklessly with foul trouble? No shot is worth a foul from him. How does he not understand that in his 5th year?

The first few times it happened I thought he learned a valuable lesson, but he clearly hasn’t.

He needs to be on the floor or we just don’t work.

Makes one think his BB IQ is not very high!

Great kid obviously, but zero impulse control and no recognition of the value of yielding a bucket early in games v aggressively going for the block. Time & game situation mastery is just not one of his assets.

Makes you wonder, having fouled out in 8 games that you need to make adjustments.

I can't rationalize why he can't comprehend that. I'm hoping the coaches have pointed it out to him......I throw my hands up because I can't mentally understand why he continues along the same path.

One possible reason could be that he feels, as the tallest of our starters, pressure to defend the other teams bigs in the absence of a true big. I don't know if that's the case, and I do agree it seems to be a judgement thing.

Marvin is the second coming of Roshown McLeod
He is a 4 being asked to play the 5 and is physically over matched every night
While his constant fouling is irritating, one can understand why he does it
He's trying his best to do a job he is not really suited to do
If he played the 4 spot, I believe that you would be seeing a different player

I can understand fouling while defending a big on the inside. But his non shooting fouls on the perimeter are ridiculous.
he should not start saturday. Those T-s were inexcusable. One from bench lost us any hope of a comeback.
can anyone confirm if he can even play?
2 techs. One of which was a bench technical after DQ which looks even worse.

The one game suspension rule only applies if you are ejected for fighting, I believe.

As an aside, nobody has explained to me (or anyone else) exactly what he did to justify the first technical. Fox ran a replay on him for about 30 seconds, and I didn't see him do anything.

I'm sure it was his mouth. Or at that point persistence. Heron got lucky early not getting T'ed. Same with Ponds at one point.

It couldn't have been, because he didn't say anything. Maybe the refs got the wrong guy?

You notice that the announcers couldn't tell either. They just said something like, "that's where he got the T, right now" not explaining what it was for (because it looked like he didn't do anything).

I wouldn't use the announcers or TV as benchmark. They focused on Mitch after Clark's 6th foul after saying Mullin at first. He just committed 2 fouls in a minute or less. I'm sure he was pissed and said something. Could have been personal frustration but official doesnt know that.

Refs going above and beyond to silence our critiques of calls, must have been taken up by league refs together. If coach won’t discipline them refs will.

But, they ran the replay focusing on Clark for like 30 seconds straight, from when he committed the fourth, to when the tech was called, and I didn't notice anything.

The only thing I saw was the ref behind him (who called the T) motioning for Clark to give him the ball, but Clark had already given it back to the other ref that was standing in front of him. Weak, if that's what the T was called for, IMO.

Dare we lay any of the blame on the staff? They’ve only had him in the gym for 3 years now. Of course responsibility is solely his when on the court. So either the point is not getting across or it’s being completely ignored.

That's exactly what happened. Refs again making it about themselves. You can see Marvin saying it was "BS' when he went back to the bench. I agree with him

Well, Mullin looked like he was absolutely ripping into Stu Jackson courtside towards the end of the game. Jackson, because he's a league representative, looked like he was trying to keep his cool, but you can tell he was not happy. Looks like there is no love lost between the two of them.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I enjoyed the game more when players committed a foul and raised their hand. Now every foul call draws a complaint from the player and the entire coaching staff. It just slows the game down. Then the refs start with their technical fouls, slowing the game down even more. To me, one foul shot for a technical should be enough. Our guys are as guilty of the complaining as anyone. And Clark's fouls aren't exactly close calls. He gets his money's worth for each foul.
