St. John's F Marcellus Earlington (JR) is entering the transfer portal. @realdealcellus verbalcommits.com/players/marcel…

Same as Greg.  Before the year I felt going into Sr year he would be a possibility.  He wasn't a CMA kid and now he has the free pass and maybe even more than a year.  Shouldn't be a shock.

Well if CMA can't put together a tournament level team on the fly why would anyone pay to see SJU? It's obvious now that last year was a total fraud - nothing was being built for anything beyond 2020.

Got it now.

Someone might be jealous his thread only has 3 responses but Greg's has over 20 /media/kunena/emoticons/whistling.png

Heard Marcellus hopes to play professionally overseas and feels best option to prepare him for that is playing more on the perimeter elsewhere. Well, good luck.

Yeah 250lb PF always just wanted to chuck and not mix it up inside.  While he has a. Ice set shot from the outside, he doesn’t have any other perimeter skills nor speed.   That’s why he lost minutes.  Not sure why he thinks he’s a guard, but best of luck.

That sucks man.  But I do not blame him.  Coach didnt play him enough.  Guy should have been out there 30 minutes a game.

Was ridiculous.

30 minutes per game?  He’d just launch shots from the outside.  We needed him inside and I’ve said that a million times.  He lost minutes because he wouldn’t mix it up and rebound.

These developments aren't good for the program, I don't care how anyone tries to paint it and imho aren't good for fans of most college basketball teams who ultimately decide whether the sport is successful there. Hopefully it's a one year phenomenon so I'll try to stay optimistic but it's not easy.

I agree.  What i love about college hoops is watching these kids grow.  Was looking forward to seeing big time senior seasons from the Duke and Gwill.

But I understand why they both and its directly tied to playing time.

Absolutely incredible.  I have no idea as to who is even on the team anymore.  The train is officially off the rails.  We might be better and we might be worse but I cannot continue to support this program.  A lack of stability indicates issues are running deeper than we all imagined.  I really like CMA but not sure what the heck is going on.  I get these were not his recruited players but the lack of any stability bothers me.  Pittsburgh situation looks way better than ours presently.

I can help you there:

Posh
Dylan
Stef
Maybe Julian
Plus the 3 guys coming in as freshman. Not sure what is going on with the mid-year transfer.

Hate to see kids go,but surprisingly I'm not too upset.

I believe all this guys who left can be upgraded.

Williams only one that would have been a sting, if he didn't have the back issues... Big IF that he stayed healthy.

Thanks.  Maybe SJ can drop out of the BE and just form an intramural league.

Fortunately, the new season doesn't start for about another 7 1/2 months, so there's a ton of time to adequately shape the roster.

There is no way Champaignie is coming back now.  All his boys are gone.  He is not sticking around 1 more year for a rebuild.

If Champaignie decides to return to college basketball, he is not returning to this team that will finish 8th in the big east.

What a disaster.

I don't care for what's currently transpiring either, but some of y'all are worst than women (of course, not all women, but enough of 'em) with the overly, emotional responses.

Who are Champagnie boys?  Hell!  There's already word going around about those same "boys" being jealous.  Whether the rumor is true or not, Posh may have been (or be) more his "boy" than any others.

We haven't been able to field a team capable of winning 1 NCAA tournament game in 20 years and now we are okay with only 7.5 months.  You understand why I might be a little pessimistic?

Maybe G Will would have seen more time if he didn't have the back of an 80 year old.
