LoVett
Me thinks Lovett, at the provocation of his Dad, jumped off what he thought was sinking ship. Boy were they wrong. Me also thinks that Ponds doesn't blossom in to a Wooden award candidate if Lovett is still here. Don't let the door hit you on the way out kid.
I believe he could’ve come back even before the league games started, but I think the losing streak definitely had something to do with him not trying to play. Give me a guy that wants to play and help his team win those games over someone that bails at the sign of adversity.

I definitely don't think we have four straight wins if Lovett plays.
To be fair, I’m confident we don’t lose eleven games in a row either. I venture to say we would probably be in a stronger NCAA tournament position with Lovett here.

No need to be confident or doubtful since what could have been is irrelevant to the present reality that we are not an NCAA Tourney team. You need depth for that and we have been winning on a wing and a prayer playing six players, one of whom is a chubby 6'3 guard good for 3 points if he scores at all. I also agree that Ponds would not be having the breakout performances had Marcus chosen to also get his points. Slick is shining out of necessity just as Maurice Harkless did and hopefully it won't have the same effect by June.

Except when Moe shinned our team still stunk, more or less. Since Ponds started shinning we've been winning. I said it before and I'll say it again, I would have liked Marcus to be the first guy off the bench. I felt that would have been his most valuable roll on the team. But I suspect that Marcus was less concerned with his most valuable roll on the team, and more concerned with what would make him look best for his pro career. Merely speculation on my part of course. But I do agree with you that for depth reasons alone, we would have been a more dangerous team with Marcus playing.

We also most likely would not have gone 0-11 though.
