Also, I'm told Marcus LoVett Jr. has decided to accept NCAA decision regarding being partial qualifier. Not taking it to court. #sjubb

Thanks, Paultz

I'm sure he's getting solid advice from Chris and the staff.

So now we get a Lovett/Ponds backcourt for 4 years. I will take it

Shame, NCAA and SJU is NG. Hope it's not another Orlando Sanchez and he has to fight for next year.

Pretty sure he has nothing to fight for next year. Provided he passes all his classes this year he is just like any other student athlete and eligible. No input from NCAA needed.

Correct

Ugh. Not surprised. Hope the freshmen get more playing time this year in preparation for next year.

Taking the under on that has to be pretty good odds.

True but Ponds has committed knowing that LoVett along with FM were already on board. SP and ML will both get big time minutes and neither posses the prototypical physical attributes of NBA prospects. I think they are both 4 year players and that is awesome for us. But you're right, nature of the beast.

I wanted him to qualify this year as much as the next guy, as I think he could have benefited from Big East play, and of course we need him badly. That said, this is much better than having him prep this past year. We get him on campus, integrated with the team, and practicing against college level players.

the NCAA has a history of "doing a job on st johns"
Besides the Sanchez case they did the same thing to us back in the 80's with Marco Baldi
Whenever they can hurt us they will as opposed to treatment given to the so called powerhouses and teams with tv draw such as UK, UNC and Duke
If this was a UNC player he would have been qualified in November. It is total bull and I am disappointed that they didnt take this to Court. Back down and show them we wont fight and they will do it again as soon as they can.
FED UP

I take nothing for granted, will believe it when I see it

I like Lovett and look forward to him when and if he plays. But judging on his history I see no way he stays here 4 years
