We didnt get beat down. Cuse and GTOWN games were beatdowns. We had a chance to make the game close with 5 minutes left, just missed shots.

In Jack's defense, he never stated anything about it being a moral victory.... Some poster said the game was a blow out, and Jack stated that we didn't. So, you can stop with the strawman.

Listen, usually after a loss, I know there are posters who are going to put on the "we suck, hello nit" routine. I usually just go to bed and let them vent but tonight I thought enough is enough. We played hard for 40 minutes, had a chance there with 5 minutes to go to cut it to 7 and make it a game, but our shots did not fall. It is unfortunate, but our season is not over.
 
Dom Pointer has no skill and makes terrible decisions. How is the ball always in his hands? It's unbelievable. He can't shoot, he can't handle, and he doesn't make good decisions.

I'm sick of this kid touching the ball. Play defense and then get out of the way.

Ahh... the inevitable (_______________) [fill in the blanks with your least favorite players ] sucks. Come on guys, no matter how we squeaked by wins against the lower to middle part of the league, we just played two games on the road against the two best teams in the league. Even when we were 7-3, even with Branch, beating Syracuse and Louisville on the road was just not in the Cards (pun intended). If the road to an NCAA bid has 7 league losses, these two were part of it, even by the most positive supporters. This is why a bid to the dance at 7-3 was such a tall order, and still is. Nothing has changed, except this team simply isn't as good without BRanch.

Another Amen. We lose to a team on th road that went to the Final Four last year and now we can't shoot, pass, play defense. God almighty, our 15 wins were all forfeits by the other team.
 
This Phil Greene-Bourgault thing is so obvious to so many fans why not to the Coaches? I JUST CAN'T STAND SEEING GREENE WITH THE BALL..

He breaks any movement off the ball with his incessant, almost obsessive dribbling.

HE takes way too many shots for such a poor % SHOOTER...

Hines has done a good job. I mean Pitino is a HOF COACH...

THIS TEAM STILL NEEDS LOTS OF WORK AND THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY MISSING PIECES.. pg, Power FORWARD, SHOOTER.. LAVIN HAS MUCH WORK AHEAD OF HIM RECRUITING WISE. i'M NOT CONFIDENT THIS GROUP GETS IT DONE NEXT YEAR EITHER.

I am yelling from frustration.. Isn't yelling what fans do? I also cheer but, not a lot to cheer about tonite. Or, against Syracuse, G'town before.

We have several tough games left against top 25 teams, Pitt,Marquette, ND.. Providence is also not a automatic W.
 
If you would have told me coming in that L'Ville would shoot 38% FG and 25% for the entire game, I would assume the game was either within 5 points, or that we won. How do we get blown out by a team shooting that terribly?
 
Syracuse and Louisville were the only teams i felt could blow us out... and they did. They bright side is we don't have to play them again. I think we can win or be very competitive in our last games. We need to hope the rest of the bubble teams struggle

Let's break it down..... Marquette is just as good as the Cuse and Louisville, if you agree with the statement, "you are what your record says you are", at ND.... Tough one as they just beat the Ville there. Pitt has been tough as of late. Providence is no slouch up there, and then there is South Florida home.....winnable. Realistically we may be looking at only one more win.

I'm hoping for USF,Prov and Pitt. Marquette hasnt been great on the road so if we can pull out the other 3 then that last game of the regular season could be a real big game for us

At the risk of being marginalized even more: this isn't basketball. We can't shoot and are game on the road playing rag tag crap. Louisville should be embarrassed too. I learned a lot by not driving down for this game: 1. Conference scmoferance, no calls will go our way in KY (FYI, in Indiana too) 2. We'd be better off playing playing the NIT than playing a playing a one and done. 3. We are not good, at all. We can't shoot, play defense, or game plan.

Did I deny we cant shoot? Did i deny we don't game plan? Nope. We play good, hard defense. That is what I wanted to say. Im not blind to the flaws of this team, but id much rather look at the bright side of things, we were never expected to win these last two so the fact that we lost by 14 and you and other people are bitching and moaning like our season just ended is annoying me.

Jack, it's my fault, I'm an old geezer on this site but a very infrequent poster. I'm not mad at us, just don't see us playing in meaningful post season hoops. In a year of parity, we are at mediocrity. I'd love to win, it's just not reasonable this year
 
I know people are frustrated but take a step back and realize that these last three losses all came on the road against arguably the three best teams in the Big East. We are playing without our starting PG, and the last two games without our head coach. Win 4 of the last 5 and we are dancing IMO.

Agree, thought they did a great job of penetrating nearly every possession and not settling for outside shots.
Zone or man - they found a way to take it to the basket.

We could learn something from that.

they had 30 foul shots, we had 7. Otherwise we shot the same percentages they did, and had the same amount of possessions. We actually shot better from 3 than they did.

Most fans know the remaining of our schedule isn't a cake walk, and know Providence isn't an automatic win. So, why do you continue to mention the same stuff nearly every post?

i beg to differ i never felt they would win i know this team to well . when they went up in the 2 half i knew louisville run was just a matter of time they lost by 15-16 thats a blowout i dont wanna here we were withing 10 with 5 to go please
 
Winning is reasonable this year. We have done it 15 times. and if we do it 5 more times we are dancing. 5 wins and we are in. Focus on South Florida. That is all.

All we do is dribble at half court, pass it a few times to stationary players, dribble backwards with the shot clock down to 10 and get off an awful shot with 5 secs left.

i'am watching the Gonzaga and St mary's and the said how much better the kid from Gonzaga is from redshirting in the middle of his career. I think i heard them say that Mark Few has redshirted 27 players like that during his time there. Let's all hope Gift comes back as a beast next year.
 
Forget this game now. Must fully concentrate on South Florida. Cannot afford to fall asleep on them. Get back on the winning track.
However, every remaining game the opposing team feels they can beat the Johnnies, you can count on their coach preaching that.
These games are going to be brutal down the stretch. No gimme's
