LIU Brooklyn

Not the worst game we've ever played, but we dont look like a team with postseason plans. Thats for sure.
We have very little discipline in staying with our defensive assignments. And offensively, like someone else mentioned, I don't understand why our guards aren't getting Obekpa the ball following a pick and roll.
The guards are being trapped, but force the issue instead of swinging it back to a cutting CO.

We may have to ransom one of Louie's old sweaters. May be our only hope this season.

They played 3 games they were suppose to win, and they won them all. Nothing to complain about, lets step it up next week against better teams. D Lo, Jordan and Obepka not many teams have a 3 like that.

If we plan like this against the better teams we lose by 15 Each team we played so farther guards were beating our guards off the dribble We were bigger had more talent so we won If we could shot better from the field and defended the 3 better we could have won by 20

7 assists & 2/11 from three point land. Early, but team chemistry is clearly a work in progress.

As a team I see no progress game to game. That is a coaching issue. Mike Dunlap please come back.

New season = more run-on sentences.

@CESPN1: Johnnies got out rebounded 44 to 39. 21 offensive rebounds for LIU. Only 7 assists.

Offensively, we had open shots all night long. Our guys got too comfortable beating the lesser team off the dribble and that shows with only 7 assists in the box score. We missed a bunch of wide open looks as well. This game was never seriously in question even when we were down.

Defensively, they still get beat too often by guard penetration. You'd think a guard-oriented team would be better.

Harrison's nose for the ball, hustle, and overall makeup are just awesome. Jordan could be scary good by February. He still has to figure out a bunch of stuff (like when to drive and when to pull it back), but there is time. Again, I love him in the post and like Dom there too. We need a couple guys to really step up to the Obekpa-Harrison-Jordan trio.

Dom played very well tonight. Those blocked shots from the weak side will be huge with our lack of height. 18 points, 8 boards, 6 blocks and only 2 turnovers. I'll take half of that consistently from him.

I am surprised Amar is not getting any time. You'd think he will be needed in the Minnestota and Gonzaga/Georgia games. At the end of the day, we are 3-0 heading into a tough week. You can't ask for anymore.

Just saw Branch on the milk carton in my fridge. I'm concerned

He has great vision but his contacts keep falling out. Our 4 guards not playing well as a unit. Harrison was dreadful and Green was Green. Redshirting has not done a thing for Balamou and Jones. Scary when your best recruit is a walk on from Cali. I sense an Irish wake.

I love D, but this kid KILLS us on defense. I kept my eyes on him for a few defensive positions and he is never in the right position defensively which in turn messes up the whole teams defensive rotation. Dom had a great night tonight and loved what he gave us on defense as well as the boards.

Besides the NJIT game I know they haven't been the prettiest wins but we are 3-0 and have won by 13+ every game so far. Can we just bring some noise next week and beat Minnesota!!??

If I can say one thing about these kids they come to play at the Garden, they have ever since their freshman year. Let's cheer for a big week next week!

By the end of the following week we will be 3-2. Don't worry about Amar. He will do just fine......in Italy next year.

You know what St. John's basketball really needs? More people like you to remind us daily that we aren't Kentucky, Duke, or Arizona. Thank you for another wonderful contribution. What do you have on your schedule tomorrow...going to go heckle some CYO games and let all the kids know that only one out of a million kids will make it to the NBA and they should give up now? Maybe swing by the humane society to watch them put down some dogs?

Didn't see the game. Didn't look like Jones got much burn.If not ,alarming. Needs exp.
