Legal Battle Over Big East Name / N.Y. Post

I think The Big City Conference can work if we stick to schools in major media outlets (NYC, DC, Philly, Chicago, Indy (Butler), Cincinnati (Xavier).

I don't like the Catholic 7, I hope nothing remotely close to that sticks around.

How about The Big Release.......or The Cloverleaf Conference.....or The Gangsta Conference?

More seriously, The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, but we already have the ECAC a wacky D-1, D-2 and D-3 amalgamation of over 300 schools but almost all of them are also in other conferences....so that won't work.

My choice: The Eastern Collegiate Conference, The ECC.

The East Coast Conference is taken (D 2 schools near NYC,)

Big City Conference. I love it. I dont know who came up with that but it's perfect.

I did, maybe I should trademark it LOL If we don't add any additional schools we can be The Super 7 ; )

I agree. I think this has a nice sound to it.. Big City Championship at the Garden rolls off the tongue. You better trademark it.

We can't take everything.

1. When we leave and how much.
2. The name
3. MSG

Three things on the table. We cannot win them all. So we need to think about what we REALLY need. To me its 1 and 3. I don't care about the name. Let them keep the name. Let it lower our exit fee and keep them away from MSG (least worry since I think MSG wants us more than them)

MSG is not takeable. The corporate entity that owns the tourney is the Big East Conference, which we are leaving. If this is not a multiyear deal, then MSG can neotiate with the highest bidder.

The name is probably not the C-7's to take, unless the league folds completely. If it survives, the schools that remain who paid an entry fee to join the Big East will own the name,

I would think the C-7 teams have to pay the prescribed exit fee.

How about the Big Smoke, a common term for cities.

I guess I wasn't clear. Yes we have to pay for the name. I'd rather pay to get out early instead of paying for a name.

As for MSG me thinks they had a clause in their contract that if the conference was gutted they could opt out. They don't want to host South Florida and Houston every year. They want STJ, Gtown, Nova, etc so that shouldnt be an issue.

And for a lot of posters here and their outside activities

Strong rumor is that the Pope stepped down and will shortly be named the Commissioner LOL

One less though. I quit almost two years ago. Natalie and Ted will have to smoke alone if and when we get together again!

Ahh congrats. That's one vice I never got into. Cant take even the smell of smoke. Luckily Nat pretty much only smokes if she drinks and she hardly ever drinks so that's good for me
