I too cant figure it out. So far w the exception of Branch ,it is a bad recruiting class. We are a thin team,w missing pieces.We have 0 recruits from the 2012 class. We are also in march already. If I am not mistaken , by this time last year we had everybody commited except Gift.Not trying to be neg,just realistic.We will see what happens.

I'm sure Lavin wouldn't make a statement like that unless he had a good idea of who he feels he can/will sign, and that they will make it one of his best classes. Could be some players we are aware of and perhaps some we have no idea about. I'll take him for his word-have no reason not to.
Regardless, what is being stated, I'm still including Branch in our 2012 class. There are still missing pieces, but there is still time left to put together a solid class.
No offense, but what happened (per recruiting) last season is irrelevant to what is going on this season. If April and May comes and goes without the recruiting "needs", then I'll be on board of the bad recruiting class. Otherwise, we still have a couple more months to see what transpires.
Perhaps Lavin can't say anything -- bringing in a kid who hasn't broken the news to his old school that he won't be honoring a verbal from six months ago, for instance.
Or a kid who really wants no thunder stolen from his press conference a few weeks from now.
Or maybe he's bringing in one of the top non-U.S. amateurs in the world, and they are still sorting out logistics.

Or....maybe he's grasping at straws and that you would never hear from him. Odds are there are leftovers like Norm was able to get but the silence is deafening as far as big names are concerned. I just want to see a complete roster and take our chances on developing them. No more 6 man teams, please!

It was Lavin who came back too early from surgery correct? that forced him off the coaching lines where he is paid to be right? It was Lavins Recriuts who did not qualify right?

It seems some folks don't understand or can't understand that Lavin took some chances due to having to fill out an entire roster. He didn't have to fill out 4 or 5 schollies, but an entire roster. He took some risks that ultimately backfired. Many of those same players were being recruited AND offered by high-major programs.
It was Lavin who came back early from surgery.... Your point? He'll be back as the head coach in full capacity and I believe he'll make this team (and program) winners.
