Lafayette, Sat., Nov. 12, 6p, FS-2

We were a 24 point favorite and only won by 15. I would call that an "off" night.
Greg, it’s early. Just staying positive. Many a year we have lost games just like this. Hopefully we see a progression as they play more together. Jones looks solid and Posh and Curbelo will annoy the opposition. That’s my positive takeaway. The competition is certainly going to get better.

This could have been worse. We shot the ball very well and cut down the turnovers. Lafayette made a lot of threes but I think they were hot tonight. They make two less and it's a 20 point game. Rebounding was a concern. Stanley doesn't look good. Hopefully he can improve or Nwiye will get more minutes.

In truth I think 10 points does matter for NET purposes.
It does. It cuts off at 10. So, they did good winning by 10+.

And I don't care what anybody says, that Lafayette team is not that bad. I watched Georgetown vs Coppin State the other day, they looked better than both of those teams, in that game defense was truly optional.

This is now 2 high majors Lafayette has competed with, I'm not saying they are a tournament team or even an NIT team, but if they pull a few upsets and finish in the middle of the pack in their conference it wouldn't surprise me, they got some shooters and they play hard. And that Rivera kid is going to be a star. He's going to be somebody's prize in the transfer portal after this season or next season.

Don’t discount the defensive side of the ball. Curbello has made their guards work just to get the ball up the court.
I don’t discount it and agree that initially Curbelo does harass his man but when his man beats him off the dribble he often gives up on the play which is an area he needs to improve upon.

I did think that the team improved on recovering after full court pressure although I don’t really recall much full court pressure.

Bill, you're always such a "glass half full" guy! LOL! 😄

No difference from other years under Andersson, always giving up 3's on Defense, can't hit 3's of our own. Sloppy offense, terrible rebounding. Just another frustrating year coming up.

St John’s shot 10 for 20 from 3. I guess they did miss 10.

We shot 50% from three tonight after shooting 39% in our opener. If we did that all year, I'd be ecstatic.

You didn't even watch the game did you? St. John's was 10/20 from 3 this game. By any standards, even Gold State Warriors Steph Curry standards, that's a great night shooting from the 3.

And so far this year they are shooting 44% as a team from 3.

You can complain about defense. But, offense this year has been really good, minus the turnovers in the first game. They are getting a lot of paint points at a high percentage, getting a ton of assist, making free throws, and shooting it great from 3.

You beat me too it 😂

Mike should be here soon. I suspect it was quite warm at Carnesseca tonight. Warm weather, full blast heat. I don’t think he’ll be happy! 🤣
The arena looked a little "thin", but it's still early and we are playing "cupcakes".
