Knicks

Just saw some nonsensical rumors of Knicks getting Labron for Mitch, Josh and Bridges. We ever do that and I give up 60 years of rooting for the Knicks.
In addition to giving up way too much heart and soul of the team, LeBron would hate KAT and there'd be no chemistry whatsoever.

Which of course means Dolan is going to do this.

If that happens you know the NBA is FIXED Bailing out the back end of the LeBron contract and giving up actual assets for a one year rental of a past his prime LeBron would be laughably insane and indefensible.

Of course, they already proved that by trading the perennially injured AD for Luka. Before that the NBA forced the AD to LA for a bucket of balls to NO.

Guess I gotta give Brown a chance, so I'll give him at least next year.
Eventually they gotta do big things with him, but won't put the pressure of doing that in year one.

Lance Ware is on the squad. Eyepopping, but then you realize he was Rick Brunson's player while coaching Camden HS + WWW connection with Kentucky guys + by all accounts, a leader.

Kolek and Hukporti have a year of NBA practices and spot play under their belts.

They need to dominate.

Thibs notoriously practiced them VERY lightly. Moreso walk throughs than actual practices. All the while running his starters out there for 40 min a game and further neglecting the development of any and all young players on the roster. Kolek is a rookie all over again thanks to that. Say what you want about the shambolic coaching search but I’m still glad he’s gone!

Next year needs to be 50+ wins and a trip to the ECF at minimum. That’s the bar that was set by this move. Anything less is a step back and a failure. Nothing to do with the Coach personally but that is why he is getting the big contract.

I never had a problem with firing Thibs, and do not think the firing was Dolan’s decision.

I look at Brown as the same level coach as Thibs. The difference is Brown stresses more offense while Thibs is a defense first coach. And this roster may respond better with Brown’s philosophy.

Also, Brown is under immense pressure. Not only is he replacing a successful coach, but both Boston and Indiana will be without their best player for all next season. While Orlando and Detroit are improving, there is still quite a path for the Knicks to make the finals in the East.

As why I do not think firing Thibs was Dolan’s call is because if Dolan likes them personally, he usually gives his front office a lot of rope.

Just look at the Knicks and Rangers. Dolan has kept Sather, Thomas, and Drury, among others even though their results were mediocre and Thomas even had a sexual harassment complaint against him.

I think Rose is the next guy that Dolan likes a lot personally. The only difference is that Rose has been very good, and the Knicks have never had a stretch like this since Checketts/Riley.

While Thibs certainly had a lot to do with that, Rose decided to go all in with a new approach.

Most likely not especially with the signing of Yabusele. Only veteran minimum of slightly over 1 mill per year available to Knicks to flesh out their roster.
Agree they would not have spent those $$ on Yabusele if precious was in their plans

White Chocolate took up playing the harmonica to get in JD’s band and the next gm of the Knicks . SJUWILLROCKNYC my assistant gm he will take the reporters out for 3 6 packs each after losses and miss the press deadline

Expecting the usual “winning culture” schtick 🫣

Here you go. The New York Knicks have posted the introductory press conference for new head coach Mike Brown.

"Our goal, starting with Mr. Dolan to Leon to the players, all the way down to the fans, is to build a sustainable winning culture that produces championships. That's why I'm here."

I cringe every time a sports owner is addressed as "Mr."
