Knicks

My favorite Knick Josh Hart since the All Star break:

40 minutes a game
12.4 pts
11 rebs
6.1 assists
3.4:1 A:TO rate

The poster boy of how a Non Star (AKA big time scorer) should go about making an impact.

I know it sounds crazy when you have Jalen Brunson, but this guy is the Knicks' MVP.

Ever since he came over last year, the team has just clicked in almost every way possible. He is the glue that keeps them together.

My favorite Knick too Mase. My Knick version of Justin Simon. Realize they are different players but they share dedication to hustle and ability to affect the game in multiple ways.

I agree

Just playing a dismal game on both ends. Don’t watch them very often but I guess I just picked a bad night.
I don't have the game on tonight. See Hartenstein & McBride are sitting. I'm a little concerned that Jalen hasn't scored as he was clearly a little hobbled towards the end of last night's game. Bucks could well lost to Thunder and would hope Knicks would take advantage but such is life in the NBA

Terrible way to end the half as score quickly went from down 7 to down 12. Lose tonight and it makes Sunday a must game to stay out of 4-5 seed and second round match with Celts (assuming we get there). Hopefully, we have another Brunson explosion in the 2nd half!

Actually down 9, Hart hit a 3 at the buzzer but point is taken; don’t watch much NBA at all and pretty much every time I do, I know why I don’t.

I understand. As a former coach you are much more of a purist than me which is cool. I am really only a fan of two teams at this point, SJU and the Knicks while a mild Yankee fan. For any NYer who still enjoys watching the NBA (get that many don’t) this is a fun team to root for!

Obviously they are, and I certainly understand your point, and the proof as far as I am concerned is that I have watched more parts of their games this year than I have in forever. A good friend of mine insists what I identify as no defense is actually the opposite, that the players are just that good offensively that it appears that way.
And yes, you are on the money that I let my purist view of the way the game should be played get in the way of my just enjoying what I’m watching. I think my reaction to the SJU - UConn BE tournament game is a legit example of that.

Ah, the inevitable review for absolutely nothing. You don’t call the obvious push you can’t call a player “commenting” on it.

Team is special to be in the hunt for the 2nd seed without Randle for more than half the season
I have not loved a Knick team more than Riley’s first season with Xavier McDaniel. That team had a second unit of Startks, Anthony, and Mason. They would hurt you.

The only other group in that conversation was the LJ, Camby, Sprewell, and Houston team that went to the finals and lost to San Antonio.

Biggest mistake was letting X go and then trading Mark Jackson for Charles Smith.

Absolutely. That was mostly on Riley, as he wanted Smith.

No one expected that type of season from that group. But once they took Chicago to game 7, I would have loved to see that group back again.

Although it would not have been easy because Jordan was making direct calls to the NBA offices demanding the league come down hard on the Knicks for their style of play.

Regarding this year’s team, they have fit nicely between the X-Man group and the LJ four point play team.

Kind of crazy to think he's totally lived up to embodying that culture.

I'm too young to remember the Riley Knicks, and just old enough to remember the finals run in '99. Easily the most fun I've had being a Knicks fan. Especially with how much the NBA game as eroded (the games are unwatchable in the regular season), I think it's really a privilege to be able to watch the Knicks on a night-in, night-out basis.
