Knicks

Brunson picked the worst time to play his worst game. He was absolutely awful tonight on both ends. Not much good to speak of. OG had a good second quarter. Robinson had a good first half. Shamet hit some shots in garbage time. The rest ranged from merely terrible to completely awful.

As great as it has been to see this team become relevant again, they are a group of parts that don't fit together. What makes it worse is that they have zero roster flexibility left, so they are stuck with this core that has two well below average defenders in Towns and Brunson, and those two do not fit well together on the floor offensively. This was the year to get to the Finals. Not sure that they will be as fortunate moving forward.

I tried to watch second half as no Mets game tonight. I thought this was supposed to be a basketball game, but a wrestling match broke out. Boring compared to SJU and college basketball. Refs seemed to have lost control. Dolan curse continues as far as the Knicks and Rangers go. Case in point, Dolan owned the Liberty and put them on market in 2017 with sale complete in 2019. They had not been since 2002, and Dolan moved them to Westchester to "save money" (Dolan has financial troubles). The Tsai's have rebuilt the team and were in WNBA finals last 2 years and won WNBA last year. Amazing what good ownership can do.

After all that, I think it’s time to send KAT packing. Biggest letdown of the series especially with all those mismatches he couldn’t exploit. After that Game 1 disaster, it was always gonna be an uphill climb.

I’m a big Brunson fan, but honestly? Not sure he’s that guy to carry a team to a title. If they’re sticking with the Villanova core, the only one who should be leading that group is Jay. Period.

As for Nesmith—he needed a Pat Bev type glued to him this series to set the tone early: we don’t take shit.

They’re another piece away. I’d go after Kawhi and a solid depth piece. I actually liked what I saw from KL—looked like he finally got that fire back.

I think OG is a championship caliber starter His footwork is so clean.

The next time Town bends his knees on defense will be his first.

KAT was the best Knick player in this series, especially a monster game five. Yes, he had a bad game six, but who didn’t?

There is a lot of blame to go around before getting to KAT’s turn. Start with the Nova guys. They were abysmal.
