Rj is only 20. He can still become the best player on a championship team. His shooting has improved tremendously. I think he will be a special player.

Let’s pump the brakes a little bit ;)
Is it good that he's taking more 3's on a team that is dead last in tempo? /media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

This is a genuine question and you gotta believe me when i say I’m not trying to act demeaning. When tempo goes up, do shots go up or down? If the Knicks played at a higher tempo wouldn’t you expect him to shoot even more 3s?

Have to admit I was wrong on Rose.  Thought he was done.

Same here. He plays his role well for Thibs. He’s a capable second unit PG that provides instant offense and can really get them going when the first unit comes out struggling. Thibs wisely will let him work with the first group pretty often when Payton doesn’t have it going at all or the first unit is stuck in the mud.

What I see from RJ is a guy who at his peak can be Khris Middleton. Not THE guy but a borderline all star and a consistent second scorer on a contender.

And that’s fantastic cause even the beginning of this year when RJ started out like 0-24 from 3, I really didn’t know what we had in him. But he has had an awesome sophomore season. I’m so happy he’s far from a bust

I love him. And you don’t have to be a superstar for that!

i love him too. His desire and passion to be great is so awesome to watch.

I was listening to Derrick Rose talk to the media postgame, and he said the vets on the team try their best to keep RJs head up after a bad half like he had last night because RJ is a perfectionist.

he gets so visibly pissed after he misses shots. But he doesn’t lose his confidence.

growing up just outside of Philly, I’ve always followed the Sixers kinda closely. You look at a guy like Ben simmons. Gifted physical and athletic attributes. But he has made no major strides in his game. 4 years in the league his stats are basically the same and even worse in some areas compared to his year 1.

watching a guy like Ben Simmons be so content with who he is as a player... and then turning around and watching RJ who wants to be better so badly. It’s a breath of fresh air.

RJ may have like 1/4 of the natural talent of a Ben Simmons, but watch RJ will be the better player in 3-4 years... because he’s gonna keep growing and working his ass off while guys like Simmons are fine with what they are.

In Savannah for 3 nights. Hoping I can find the Knicks and Hawks on a local station without my wife getting too annoyed lol!

Ah, second honeymoons are overrated. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Gotta credit the hawks for drawing up a catch and shoot knowing the Knicks would probably foul up 3.

going to OT

MVP! MVP! ;)
Think they went to Randle iso a little too much down the stretch of regulation when they blew the late 7 point lead. Have loved Randle this season and he is MVP...of the Knicks.

Knicks up 5 at halftime against Toronto. Randle with 20 already. Thank God for Derrick Rose, as Payton is really pretty ineffective. Hope they can find a point guard with one of their late first round picks.

Payton is singlehandedly giving up the lead with as many turnovers as points. Time to give Nikitilina a chance to play some of his minutes.

Peyton's Place should be the bench.

Wild stat.

eflrid Payton is a -9 today. Every other Knicks has a positive +/- except for Bullock and Noel who are both only a -2.

take away the Payton minutes the Knicks have been in control of this game

Julius Randle and Rowan Barrett Jr becoming a formidable NBA duo is just amazing to watch. They are great
